Where did I say it was $299 + $70? It may very well be more. However, it confirms the original question of the thread, and what's been up for debate, which is if it will be offered at 1 year pricing. And it will be according to an executive at Verizon speaking to the press. We just don't know the pricing yet.

Where is this confirmed? All other smartphones on Verizon can be bought at a 1 year contract price, for around $70 more than the 2 year subsidized price.

1-Year-Contract Option
Verizon may have only announced pricing on the phone with a 2-year contract, but that doesn’t rule out speculation that the carrier will also offer a 1-year-contract option. Most, if not all of, Verizon's smartphones on its Web site offer a shorter-term one-year contract option. Although these cost more than with 2-year contracts, the prices are still significantly lower than the full retail price.
Indeed, Verizon Spokeswoman Brenda Raney told FOX Business, "All of our phones have a one year option. There are no plans to change that for iPhone."

Lol, you're not keeping up with you own thread dude. You asked if the iPhone will have the same 1 yr contract option as all the other verizon smartphones. It has been said by YOU that that 1 yr contract cost was an extra $70 in addition to the cost of the subsidized phone. Then you say that it has been confirmed by verizon as such. Even though it's not mentioned what it will cost but that's null and void since your arguing the fact that it should be the same as it is now - $70. Then you go on to say that nobody knows the price and that's what's up for debate.

Might want to get your questions right before you ask them. Your contradicting yourself here.

From what you posted already - you have your answer. Lol.

While it doesn't confirm pricing, an assumption can be made that the pricing would be similar to what it is now. Is it a safe assumption? Who knows really, but it's an assumption.

I will gladly pay $400 for a 1 year contract on VZW.

I was adding that they can be bought at a one year price like all other phones, usually at $70 more. I wasn't asking if the Iphone would be $70 more, but if it would be available on a one year contract (with the obvious implication that it would cost more, whether it be the usual $70 or something different).

The important part of the thread (which I think most people understood) wasn't how much more it would be, but whether or not there was a middle ground between being locked into a 2 year contract, or paying 600/700 for no contract.

In case there are any Verizon and/or Apple folks monitoring this thread, I will state that a 1 year option would get me to jump on the Verizon iPhone now. If 1 year is not any option, I will probably wait until this summer to see if there is a Verizon iPhone update that might include LTE. I could live with a previous generation iPhone for 6 months but would be pretty disappointed if Verizon iPhone 5 were to be released in June and I still had 1½ years on my contract.

Along with a bump for anyone interested, I also got a tweet from the Verizon spokeswoman in that article, who again confirmed that a one-year contract will be an option for the iphone.

This was taken from the verizon iPhone f.a.q. page. It Pretty much explains it:

5. Do I need to sign up for a 2 year agreement?

When purchasing iPhone at the 2 year promotional price a new agreement is required. However, you will also have the option to purchase iPhone at full retail price, which will not require you to sign a long-term agreement.

When I called they said it would be available under a 1 year contract, but pricing isn't announced till closer to pre-order. take it for what its worth. Im hoping its the same, since the 1 year contract only adds like $70 bucks up front.
