Here's mine from this morning. I'm excited to try it downtown, though, as I usually get much better speeds than at home, and i think there's HSPA+ downtown. (Columbus, Oh) This was the fastest I've seen at home.

very weird. last night, i was getting between 3.9 and 5.5 Mbps w/ an average 1 Mbsp up.

tonight im getting .16 down and 1.08 up.

WTF?

Same experience here. Got an AT&T and Verizon model for comparison testing and it is like the tortise and the hare. The Verizon is never as fast, but is always pretty consistent in the speeds. The AT&T can post super fast speed, but that's at off-peak times in L.A. If I try the tests during the middle of the afternoon (vs. 4am when I arise), I sometimes get no server response from AT&T, but Verizon keeps chugging along with usually at least 1Mbps (up to about 3).

Everybody should try their speed test during a few different times of the day to see if the good AT&T speed is consistently there. For me it was not.

Are you regularly getting this speeds on ATT in NYC? Has your coverage in NYC gotten any better with the 4S. I am debating switching to Verizon and giving up my unlimited data on ATT because the coverage is so spotty but would like to know if things are better on the 4s. Those download speeds seem incredible to me. In fact, last weekend I tried some tests in an ATT store on an Android HPSA phone and download speeds were only around 1.5 mbps, no better than on my IPhone 3GS.

I switched from T-mobile to AT&T and this is my first iphone so I cant compare to last gen, but yes these speeds are consistent. The slowest I've had (which is in my apartment building) was still over 5Mbps. Judging from what im seeing from other users in these forums, AT&T's offering is really blowing away the competition. I was weary of AT&T after reading so many horror stories but so far Ive not regretted my decision to go with them at all!

And I was right....downtown is definitely HSPA+. Over 9 Mbps down on my first speed test. Nice!

Completely satisfied with Verizon 3G, they keep improving my area and my Verizon iPhone is way faster than friends in the area who are getting 4mbps+ down.
You have the fastest speed I've ever seen from VZW. Mine is about a third of that.

Downtown Columbus, OH right in the middle of AT&T's HSPA+ coverage area. Haven't seen much faster than that yet. Very disappointed. I called AT&T, and they said these speeds are within their acceptable range.

Anyone done any speed tests lately for the verizon iphone 4s kinda curious thinkin about switching

There is a big difference between AT&T 3G here in Atlanta and my wifi at home. Something tells me that 4G icon that Apple is pushing for is merely superficial.

I was rather shocked to get 6.8mbps tonight while walking home in the 20s near Park Ave. in Manhattan.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

These are from last night. I was playing around with the servers, so that's why I have a couple slower results listed. Typical download is around 5.5-7.5. Of course, wifi is awesome.
