My speed has increased drastically since last weekend. Go figure right? :)

Also, AT&T is my provider, I used a server located in Toledo, Ohio, and I reside around the Greater Cleveland area.

I am really not happy with my speed. I am getting on average .5 to 1.5 mpbs down and less then 1 mpbs up all over town. I'm on yorba Linda ca and I called AT&T today and they said they have great 4g coverage in my area. My wife's my touch 4g on mobile has gotten almost 6.5 mpbs on my iPhone while I was sharing her hotspot. Do you guys think this could be my phone. I'm thinking about making an appointment at apple to at least check it out.

Super happy here. Very consistent speeds.

What kind of data plan do you have? If you are using a grandfathered unlimited data make sure it is unlimited data for 4S. If you use the older unlimited data plan your speeds will be slower. At least that is what another user of this site had a problem with.

BTW if you run the test two times consecutively, you will see often higher numbers.

After being fed up with the slow Sprint data speeds, I went to the Apple Store and picked up a Verizon 4S to "play" with.

With Sprint and Verizon 4S'es I have side by side, below are the following numbers (keep in mind I get pretty bad reception where my desk is at work).

Sprint speeds (in kbps):
225
208
193
240

Verizon speeds (in kbps):
857
650
660
613
525

Needless to say, I'm working on porting my number to the Verizon phone and cancelling Sprint...

My speeds with Sprint have been absolutely terrible today... they're usually around .40 Mbps down, today theyre at .10k Mbps down.

Not sure whats going on, if it's my phone, or the network, or whatever. I mean they always suck, but this is a joke.

iphone 4s Sprint 3g data speed

Lexington, Ky - Sprint 3g data tests. As an example, I clicked on MacRumors site when I left my house, it finally loaded after 4 miles of driving to a neighborhood store. Siri is not working on 3g - "failure to connect to network". Sprint tech support says they have only had a few complaints but no comment on when a fix might be offered.

I haven't figured out how to post images of apps running on iPhone, but here are the times I am getting near Columbus Ohio. I have AT&T and here is what I am seeing.

In Grove City near Georgesville Rd I am getting around 2.6 to 3 MBPS down and 1 to 1.5 MBPS up. At work in Dublin depending on where I am in the building I get anywhere from 1.5 / 1.0 MBPS down and up to .3 down / .5 up.

On my old iPhone 3Gs I got around 1.6 down / 0.5 up at home and at most 0.5 down and 0.15 up at work. So my new phone is about 3x as fast at work and up to twice as fast at home.

A few people I at work have the Galaxy S2 and and one has the Motorola and none are getting 4G LTE in the building. The guy next to me with the Galaxy S2 and AT&T is getting about the same speed as my iPhone 3gs would get, so I don't think his is picking up HSPA+ for some reason. The guy with the Razr and AT&T can't get a stable connection at all in the building.

I plan on seeing this weekend how well my 4s works at Olive Garden in Grove City, where I couldn't pick up any network at all with my 3GS.

Thanks here is my speeds for my last few tests.

The first and third and fourth timings are from the worst locations at work. The second is from the best, thankfully where my desk is.

The last two are from Home. The bottom one I had my phone near some interference so I wasn't getting as good a speed, the one above it was in another location.

I just tried it at the other side of the house, right next to my laptop and I actually get worse speed than the worst place at work. Only about .2 Mbps down, but for some reason 1.5 Mbps up. I think it may have something to do with my wireless router being so close.
