My collection

I collect all of the Macs that I couldn't afford back when they were new, and most are post-Steve Jobs return, with a few older models. Here's a list of what I currently have:

  • Macintosh 512k

Macintosh SE with SE/30 board (has ethernet card; got this one on the internet with an old version of iCab and MacIRC!)

Macintosh Performa 6400 (need to find RAM for this one!)

Power Macintosh G3 Beige (2 of them, one with a 466 Mhz G4 upgrade)

300 Mhz Wallstreet Powerbook (and lots of extra parts; enough to make three working units)

Powerbook Pismo (2 of them, one a 500 Mhz unit; the other 400 Mhz that my son uses)

Bondi Blue iMac (Rev A, has 6 Mb RAM video with 4 Mb SGRAM upgrade)

    iMac DV SE G3/500 Graphite

    Power Mac G3 B&W 450 Mhz

Power Mac G4 Cube (2 of them, one works)

Power Mac G4 "Gigabit Ethernet" (DP 500 Mhz; has Quicksilver side panels and handles... heh)

Power Mac G4 "Digital Audio" (466 Mhz; once my main machine with a 1.8 Ghz Sonnet processor that I have since sold)

I have recently sold off a few machines that I wish I would have kept, and will get these again: iBook G3 800 Mhz, Powerbook G4 12" 1Ghz, a beautiful TiBook 1 Ghz (miss this one real bad, but it went to a good owner), and an original blueberry iBook G3.

I currently use an early 2009 MacBook Pro as my main machine, but also carry my Pismo running OS 9.2.2 around to use with open wi-fi points. Classilla rules!

I hope to get an iMac G4 (only a 17" or 20" will do) and a Power Mac G5 very soon. I also want the Dalmatian and Flower Power iMacs, and a Snow iMac as well.

I'm currently working on putting up a blog for my collection. I'll post the URL as soon as it's finished.

Wow, It's been awhile.

I got a few new toys to play around with =]

Mainly I replaced my aging 2006 Intel iMac with a new 27" i3 iMac (and that was back in August o_o)

I also got a few other things, mostly PCs but one Mac that is in excellent condition.

A PowerMac G4 Quicksilver (800Mhz) With the original keyboard, usb extender, manuals (still in the plastic wrapping) the restore discs and even the warranty documents!

The price? Free. :D

I gotta ask, how did you get it for free and in pristine condition????

I work at a software company that designs server software, Im in the IT Hardware department and when I first met the head of the department I told him that I am mainly a Mac user among other things, he then pulled the PowerMac out from behind a cabinet and told me that I could have it as it was about to be recycled.

When I got home after one of the best days in my life I opened it expecting dust and hair everywhere but there was no dust on the fans at all, there was only a little dust on top of the CD/RW drive due to the fact that it had been sitting there for around 5 years.

They are mainly a PC company that runs solely on Dells with a couple people using Macs with Windows 7 installed, I have only seen 1 person in the building running OSX so far though.

The job is awesome, It's unpaid so it could be considered volunteering but meh, I learn so much from helping out around the building.

The things I do normally on the days that I am there usually include:

Re imaging dell computers (mostly Dell Precision 470s and 650s) they literally have piles of them in spares that they do not care about, Heck I even got 3 Dell Dimension 2350s from them, Very cool of them. :D

That and free pop and hot chocolate make that place heaven for me, but unfortunately I can't go there nearly as much as I want to due to school and the fact that I am too young for official co-op yet :(.

^^^ that's a good sized collection!

There was a time when my collecting got out of control - it was very cathartic to donate them (I was moving to another city). Now I'm moving again, I'm going through the donation process again. As much as I love my 9150 - I don't need it. :D

But I need my Quadra 700, to act as an ethernet/localtalk bridge. Oh, and my Mac Plus, to read and write 400KB floppies for my 512K. An an SE, because I want a 68000 machine that has ADB. Hmmm, maybe I should keep my 9150, just for 4 Nubus slot PPC goodness....

Dammit, there I go again... :)

My collection is nothing compared to some people on here! but im starting to collect a few more.
