I'm in Tempe, AZ on AT&T and my 4S I got the following on 4G:

251ms, 8.03mbps down, 3.41mbps up

250ms, 5.78mbps down, 2.71mbps up

My WiFi test was much better:

35ms, 20.40mbps down, 8.76mbps up

That's pretty good for the iPhone 4S, which maxes out at 14.4Mbps.

If you feel you know more on this topic, can you just come forward and explain it from A to Z in one message, i am very interested in the topic, but not following a sub topic of this thread for pages.:)

CAT-5 is used for Ethernet, up to 328 feet (100m). Backhaul is on fiber or telephone-line copper.

NICE!!! I was getting slightly faster than that in The Woodlands at first but it was inconsistent and I usually end up getting 19 down, and 9 up.

56 down is insanely fast and in the middle of the day too. Fastest speed down I've gotten is 51.

51.6 Down 27 Up on a moving sky train heading into downtown Vancouver.

I've attached screen grabs of my plan on Telus. I will pay a maximum of 5 dollars for the first 2 months for unlimited data on their LTE network. After that, I have to try to keep it under 5GB.

US carrier customers are being robbed blind comparatively. Weird how the US previously had cheaper data than Canada and now we have cheaper mobile data. Of course, we have direct competition between several carriers on the same frequency bands for LTE and HSPA+.

While some carriers in the US might offer cheaper data on an ongoing basis, I can cancel after the first 2 months without penalty as it is month to month and the speeds we get up here are worth a bit more money IMO. I can also choose to go to another carrier like Bell, Rogers or Virgin if I want later.

I can't believe some of these tests are faster than my home wifi connection @ 25.6mb dl and 4.36mb upload

Herdon, VA

My phone had a lot of trouble loading from Safari and facebook, and any other games or w.e that required internet, so I resorted to having a speedtest.

This is what I got, and this is despicable.

If anyone knows how to maximize the speed to at least 10mps, please tell me.
It would be greatly appreciated..

I actually live in Northern Virginia, but it defaulted to Herdon for some reason?

Sometimes, the whole thing froze at the pinging process, or at downloading or uploading process and wouldn't budge, and i had to resort to restarting the app.

I have done this back to back for about 10 minutes or so, and the speed fluxuated from 0mbps to 2.09 at max.

Why are you posting iPhone speedtests in a thread about 4G speedtest on the new iPad?

Because Downloading and Uploading speed should not differ that much regardless of it being 3G or LTE.

AND I've got an email from AT&T saying if I exceed 3GB Data they'll reduce my speed?

Upload speeds over 3G are usually significantly slower than download speeds. It sounds like you're new to the AT&T throttling discussion: their policy now is to reduce data speeds once a customer hits 3gb in a month for that month, and the speed reduction tends to be drastic (around EDGE speeds).
