I've had mine since 2004 and am still using the original battery (gone through 3 or 4 power adapters though) .. it's had a good life but I'll probably be replacing it soon :(

Geez that's amazing...have you had any problems with it? Mine just started to crap out at 22 months and fluctuates between the two readings below. Sigh...47% health according to Coconut

Nope, no major problems at all in the last 4, nearly 5 years, but lately the fan is starting to act up. Gets really loud and likes to go to sleep when I'm trying to watch stuff on youtube. Friend says it must be clogged with dust and to open it up & clean it out but I looked at the guides and it looks too complicated for me  I wonder how much it costs for them to do it...?

Oh well, it's been a good little mac (my first one) and I'm happy with how long it's lasted

For it's age, this has got to be a fairly heavy workload, and it seems to be fairing nicely. The health plummeted to around 90% after I began gaming on Windows (Boot Camp) and generally fluctuates around 85-95% depending on how long since I have done some heavy gaming on it.

My battery suddenly went down the crapper. It was above 90% a month ago, but now it's at ~50% with just 26 cycles...

Edit: Took it in to the local Apple store. They ran a test off of an ipod nano, and the battery came up as "BAD". Got it replaced free of charge since it was still under the 1 year warranty. New battery reads health 100%, cycles 0, and all is right with the world once more.

Uh, yeah. I'm pretty sure mine's defective.

53% (2657 mAH)

Only 104 Cycles!

Bought it back in September '06, so I'm definitely out of warranty. :(

Do you think the Apple Store will still replace it for free because of how ridiculously low the max-capacity is given it's cycle-count?

Cycles: 1121
Capacity: 95%
Date: Today ^.^

I also posted in the other thread about how long a battery normally lasts, and I had not noticed that for some reason the battery health monitor displays no battery health remaining. It also indicates 280%.. of what? Is the application comparing the actual cycle count against a regular normal cycle count, and thus ending up with some kind of not-to-be-reached percentage? I find it pretty hilarious that it displays no battery health remaining, yet I still have a good 3-4 hours remaining with each full charge. The :apple:-plot thickens.

This is a replacement I got from Apple a month or two ago. The first battery I got with my refurb MBP was defective. Called Apple, submitted the info to them while on the phone, had the replacement the next day and sent back the old one. This one is holding up much better than my previous one. A lot of weirdness on that first battery.

Is there a difference in battery? I noticed some capacity is mid to high 4000 while some have them 5000 up. Is it the difference between the 17 and 15in?

This is mine if anyone knows how to increase battery life that would be awesome haha :)

My battery is at 86% health and 270 cycles since late June '08.

I normally record my battery health in CoconutBattery and in January my health was at 46% and exactly a month ago my health was at 62%... I haven't exactly properly calibrated it though so I'm guessing that's why it jumps around sometimes?

19 months old, doing very well considering my usage;

Why do I feel so alone with my massive amount of cycles? I've had my Macbook since December and I've already gone through 209 cycles (still 100% health).
