Post your batt. cycles and time frame when it happened

I've been seeing all these battery posts and I was just wondering how my batt. usage stacks up with other peoples. I guess posting the health doesn't hurt either. My MBP has been used about 5 and half months, i have 90 cycles and 94% health. Apologies if this thread already exists, blame it on this sites horrible search function.

115 cycles, 87% health, 7 months old.

I use my computer to hell :p.

For the longest time I used to drain my battery from 100 to 0 every single charge because I thought that was how you were supposed to use it... > <. Fail on my part.

Way ahead of you.

240 Cycles

really Hoping it makes the 300> 80%> rule, it's usually around 80%, i have seen it as low as 40%, but it spikes back up when its fully charged.

Take it to apple when its at 40% and get a new battery anyway...

im using a unibody 15" had it since early Jan. 1 cycle, 100% lol. i usually keep it plugged in 99.9% of the time and when the charge indicator shows 99% i let it drain to about 92-95% status and then plug it in and it keeps the cycle and charge good.

i had a previous gen macbookpro from 07 and that had about 120 cycle and a 95% health but i didnt really pay attention to the way it was charged/uncharged lasted pretty long though.

hmmm so im in the upper usage area. Not excessive, but its nice to know that some people actually use their portable computers for that very purpose.

Heh, I think I might make the 80% rule; I'm not even halfway there in terms of cycles and the health is down that much already!

Every now and again I take mine off the desk, but not all that much.

I would much rather have a desktop, if i seldom took my MBP anywhere id get a mac pro, not b/c id need all the power rite away. but b/c its economical due to the upgrade ability. Not dogging you, im just surprised you have not got an i mac or tower.

Yeah, but I'm in the Army, so portability and flexibility is key. I can't take an iMac to Iraq now can I?

Sorry to bust in, but I have a quick question.

The MBP claims 1000 cycles. What is the policy on % loss before it's considered replaceable under warranty?

For example if my battery is at 500 cycles with 60% is that considered manufacturer defect..or does it have to be something like 993 cycles with 0%?

Thanks.

I think it will depend on the Genius and manager, I don't think there is any real benchmark for battery health and cycles in order to qualify for replacement.

I am uneducated, so here it goes.

How do you know how many cycles and the health?

Also, if the best way to keep the battery life up is to NOT drain fully and recharge fully each charge, then what is?

Mine from Nov 08. I wish it was still at 95/97% or something

That doesnt sound right, i should be hitting around 2 hours at 50% if im at 98% (Full Brightness, WiFi On)

60 Cycles, 96% health (on this battery)

Old one died on me, think that had around 700 or so cycles. This is since June '06.
