I'm from Canada and it got shipped with UPS. My iPod touch a month ago was shipped with FEDEX. Why did they choose UPS?? I prefer FEDEX by FAR. UPS left a 1000$ package on the floor in front of my apartment door.

Quick question for jpur and CoolMacDude, how did you guys get Apple to upgrade to overnight?

My local store said they were going to have 2.8's in stock so I called to cancel. They said they store wouldn't get them and offered to upgrade shipping. And its good I didn't cancel because the store said they didn't get any 2.8's and that they won't be stocking it.

how come most of you ordered 7200rpm hdd... does it really matter that much?

The faster RPM matters pretty significantly this time around. Before with the old Feb. MBPs, the 7200 RPM option didn't offer as big a performance gain because it is actually smaller in capacity compared to the 5400 RPM version. But this time they are the same size so performance gain should be more significant.

Mind you the 7200 RPM drive runs hotter when sustained reading/writing is done.

On another topic, am I the only person here who didn't bump the CPU up to 2.8 Ghz from 2.53?

That's odd since mine was shipped from Fed Ex. Was it shipped from China?

Nope, I got the 2.53 as well. With the 5400 drive... because I'm going to replace it with a 500 anyways. It shipped this afternoon, should be here tomorrow. I can't wait, because I am wasting too much time thinking about it.

I see that a lot of you ordered the 2.8 instead of the 2.5. Will the difference be that much? I ask this because I do not know much about that kind of stuff. Should I go for the 2.8 also? I am going to be running Final Cut Studio, After Effects, and all the other video editing goodies.
