I just got a new computer for my mom since her old one is making this horrifying noise (imagine a hairdryer with rocks stuck in the spinning part) and her old one was extremely slow. Her new computer has a Quad-Core AMD A8 and 8GB DDR3 RAM, both infinitely better upgrades than her current one. The graphics card in it is even better than my Mac's...so I might be using this computer more often too

Now that most of my daily apps are 10.9 compatible, I jumped on Mavericks yesterday. Took me about 6 hours, so "jumped" isn't exactly the right word.

Welcome onboard the Mavericks train, Gerrit -- but isn't life too short for localized versions of OS X?

Have you always had it this way?

Here's my desktop. Nothing could be more bland - tried Flavours but decided against it because OS X looks better as it was intended - same as with icons.
I'm always trying to make it look like BeOS or AmigaOS. BeOS because of the yellow color and AmigaOS because it was my first OS.
