I got charged on Monday morning and yet my 1.3 space gray still hasn't shipped or moved out of the processing order phase. Has this happen to anyone else? I'm kind of surprised it's been two days since my card was charged and still no change.

As mentioned above, for some buyers the charge remained pending for a week before any kind of change to the order status. Mine is also still pending and the order is processing. Hopefully it won't be too much longer- one guy earlier said he ordered on the 16th and got a delivery notice this morning, so I hope my purchase on the 17th will yield a shipping notice tomorrow. When did you order yours?

Me too. Just got charged early Monday. Nothing changed otherwise. Still 'processing'.

For anyone that is in a similar shipping timeframe: 1.3/256/Silver/US, ordered Apr 17th, charged on 11th, preparing for shipment early morning 14th.

I just don't get it. This MB was introduced on April 10th for availability. Still can't find one in one Apple Store. I finally ordered last week and shipping times are now for the week of June 05.

Just don't get it. Between the watch and these MB's this has to be the worst launch in Apple history.

Holy ****

Holy **** that was fast. My credit card was charged around 1am on Monday. My Macbook shipped out Tuesday afternoon from China. It arrived Thursday at 10am.

For the record I ordered April 12th.

Has anyone ordered the MacBook in the last two weeks and heard anything yet? I would have figured production would have improved by now.

I ordered a Space Grey 1.3 on May the 5th, and status has remained unchanged, still says Processing and available to ship in 3-5 weeks. ETA is 2-15 of June, it seems I will be canceling the order as I am leaving the US on may the 31st

That sucks! Careful you don't leave too late to cancel as I think past a certain point it's too late and you have to return which could be tricky if you are not here to accept.

I ordered 26 April and my ETA is 1-12 June so yours isn't too bad in comparison but still crappy in the circumstances. I keep hoping the ETA will shorten but looking at many of the posts of various threads here I don't think order-delivery timescales will drop until around June or July.

I honestly gave up waiting and bought a macbook pro. I was in urgent need of a laptop and couldn't wait any longer. I'll re-investigate the macbook in later incarnations.

I'm in the same boat - I ordered the same model on April 27th and actually have a later ship estimate (June 3rd - June 16th). I am hoping I don't have to cancel before I leave the US, but I don't know how I'm going to make it work. I am a little surprised by how terrible Apple's launch is this time around. If it was only the Macbook or only the Watch that would be one thing, but they seem to have highly miscalculated demand and their ability to supply it.

Ordered Apple 1.3GHZ/256GB April 27th, still "processing item" shipping stated 4-6 weeks, found one at local BestBuy, with 10% Movers Coupon and BB Gift Card, walked out with a new 1.1GHZ/256GB $1130. tax included, canceled Apple order.
I can't speak for other's, but the 1.1GHz works great. I would have liked the 1.3GHz instead, but now that I've been using it, for my basic purposes it has no problems.
Good Luck with yours.

Thanks, they told me I could cancel with no problem until the order ships, so I was planning on waiting a little longer. Anyway I think I will end up canceling and just getting a Pro even though it's not what I want

I wonder what the longest time they'll leave a credit card charge 'pending' is?

I ordered on 4/12 in the US - expected 4/20 - 5/2. cc charged on 5/11 or so.

Still pending and unshipped.

Getting antsy :)

I ordered a top spec space grey on May 6th here in the UK. I also ordered a usb-c adapter which I hope doesn't hold up the delivery! My estimated dates are 4th-17th June.

I'm seriously considering buying a 1.2Ghz instead from John Lewis when they get more stock in. With the small amount I save I could buy the extra years guarantee taking it to three years and it includes accidental and worldwide damage. If anyone has had experience with John Lewis before, you'll know they don't waste your time and honour their agreements very well. The extra guarantee costs £130 compared to £199 for Apple Care.

Anyone else think the minimal performance down grade is worth the 3 year guarantee instead? I do realise I'm also being massively impatient as well, ha ha!!

Going to have mine ship to a local store as well. Gives me the date (available June 29) which I'm cool with.

My question is would there be a chance that it's available before the 29th of June. Also how long would they hold it in the store for?

Thanks for reading.

If you feel that the the extra guarantee is something you would value (i.e. you are not likely to upgrade in 2 years time before the third year kicks in ) and would you ordinarily be willing to pay £130 for accidental damage coverage then I understand it would be tempting particularly as you are likely to get your macbook much quicker too.

Id love to have one of these but If I watched a processing message from apple for a whole month id have a meltdown.

I ordered on April 13th. Card was charged on Monday, 5/11, it was approved/authorized by my bank, but Apple never completed the charge, so as of today (5/15) the charge has been removed from my account. I'm pretty frustrated and confused at this point. I don't know why Apple would request the charge and then never complete it. Monday will be 5 weeks from when I ordered...better be getting it soon. Live in NYC.

This is so crazy. I don't remember this ever happening before other than maybe the iPhone releases.

5 weeks after launch and still no MacBooks in any Apple Stores and still 4-6 weeks of a wait from when you order.

I smell a problem, like issues with the original batches or some other production issues. Every other launch of the macbook airs or pros this has never happened that I can remember.

I know I am making way to much of this but I find it interesting, not to mention I am so impatient.

There has got to be either a component delivery problem or something in the assembly of the MacBook. Apple is a master of both logistics and design so I'm guessing it must be a component problem. I'd be tempted to think it's the taptic device, but there doesn't seem to be any problem with the 13" rMBP and it has the new trackpad also.

There has got to be some constrained supply component in there causing all this.

Me too. Just got charged early Monday. Nothing changed otherwise. Still 'processing'.

Finally, today, on Friday evening my status says "Preparing for shipment". Cool!

(Ordered on April 15th).

Don't give up hope people!

Maybe they're simply selling a lot more of these things than they expected.

The reason I doubt it's simply sales is the fact that supplies to the stores have been so constrained. This has never happened before. I also don't believe the story about this is an attempt to drive sales online because units are slowly trickling into the stores. It's got to a constrained component driving all this. Everything else is just behavior that happens in trying to deal with this.
