Oh...so iOS 11 still shows your carrier. Bleh. I know a career is never shown in Apple's promo images, but given the iPhone X doesn't show this info due to lack of space, I was hoping they just removed it from iOS. I know who my carrier is, I don't need to be reminded when I look at Verizon's poor reception indicators in my area.
