Mine is still a work-in-progress...

Sanyo PLV-Z2000 1080 projector
100" motorized 16:9 screen built into cabinetry
Sony STR-DE897 7.1 amp (no HDMI inputs, so it's asking to be replaced)
Motorola DCT-3416 DVR
Older DVD/VCR combo
Panasonic BD-35 Blu-Ray Player
Mac-Mini 2.0gHz 2GB/160GB (Will use Plex when I feel like setting it up)
Wii with sensor bar mounted permanently into cabinetry
Slingbox Classic
4-way AV Switcher since I don't have enough inputs (what is it with receivers these days?)
Bose 5.1 speaker system (front speakers built into cabinetry)

Here is mine.

I apologize on behalf of everyone who has posted in here for not having the monetary funds/location for a full-blown home theater. We will all wallow in our shame and crawl back into our holes.

uh

sorry that not everyone has 10k laying around for one?

lets see yours then

Guys guys...:)

I can see both of your points. It is the "Post your Home Theatre" thread and not the "Post your TV Setup." On the other hand some people consider their living rooms a Home Theatre.

Well, its not really home theatre but its all I've got at the moment. Maybe its a home theatre minus the screen...ya thats it. :)

Ours basically is a home theater, except we have to use a TV instead of a projector as it's all in the living room so we don't have a specified room for it. This is probably the dilemma a lot of people have, as I'm sure if everyone had a dedicated room for it, most people would have a proper theater room :)

Then it's not really a home theater. It's a living room with a large TV. "Home Theater" to me implies a room specifically for watching movies/tv/etc...dark, theater seating, no other stuff, etc. It's not like someone should feel like a lesser person because they don't have room for a home theater.

I have yet to go to a "theater" that uses an LCD panel instead of a projector...

BTW, :D = kidding....

You want a pic?

This thread would have died a long time ago if it was limited solely to dedicated home theaters.

Personally, I like seeing the living room setups too. They're more practical and you can take ideas away from 'em, since the majority of posters have to pump their AV money into their living room.

Those of you with a dedicated room just get to show off and take the cake! :)

Replacing my Sony STR-DA2400ES with an Onkyo 607 tomorrow evening, rather excited. The Onkyo has six (!) HDMI inputs, and 7.2 surround sound as well as the new Dolby Digital IIx system for high level fronts - sounds like I'll be added a few new speakers to the rig - unfortunately Mordaunt Short don't make my speakers any more :(

Pics to follow once I've got the lot installed!

Nothing wrong with old stuff LOL... ;)

Do us a favor.. shut up. You're one of the worst e-liars I have ever met.

Claiming you have all this stuff but when asked to see a picture, you don't reply but you reply to everything else.

Lets see all your stuff, your desk, Mac Pros, equipment, DB9 and all that. Why lie on the internet?

Jesus. v

^ why does it even matter to you? (been waiting to use this) Gear down big rig!

I know I posted two times in this thread saying whenever I get time, I'll snag a photo or two of my Home Theater (Yes, it uses a projector), but I really keep forgetting. *Goes downstairs and gets a picture right now for you guys*

Alrighty then, I'm back-

Mitsubishi 1080P (Forgot exact model) projector
7.1 Channel Yamaha RC230 (I think it's that...okay, I'm fairly sure I'm not even close)
Sony BD player
Dish DVR-HD box
120" screen
(The gray box attached to the wall on the right is a circuit breaker for the whole house)

Missing:
Xbox 360 Elite
Wii

Need to be moved:
PowerMac G5 (Airport card comes tomorrow, so Yay!)

I live in downtown Sydney at the moment so a dedicated room for a home theater isn't an option.

My building does have a purpose built 300" 10 lounge theater I can book with a half decent projector (Optima HD81). I only use it about once a month to watch oversized films... The rest I watch in my apartment.

Here is what I'm currently working with; 08 Mac Pro accessing my 8TB iTunes library stored from a NAS that is now 90% full :(
*My lack of storage was the original reason I came here, its storage upgrade day.

I think you are the first person ever to say that 8TB was considered a lack of storage or an iTunes library.

HOW DARE YOU LAY YOUR MP ON THE GROUND LIKE THAT!!!! What do you think it is, a windows device? lol Nice setup. Im sure you get some nice pic quality with the screen pretty much enclosed by the walls.

What do you have in your iTunes that takes up that much storage? Im thinking about moving my current itunes library (about 40gbs) to my external HD (500gb). The HD has about 200gb of movies now. The only reason I havent done it yet is because Im afraid that the HD would just go out on me one day, and I would lose everything. Do things like that normally happen?

lol, 1) It's a G5
2) I moved it- It was like that because I was adding RAM
3) It's now in my room :)

Yeah, but the walls are pinkish, if they were grey/black, I'm sure it'd be a better picture. Still, at night when there's no light coming through the windows, it's so realistic!
