Beautiful!

Thanks!

Looks amazing! Where'd you get those movie posters?

Yes, there are tags to embed. Use the section after v= and tag it using without the space at the end of the bracket.

Thanks for the embedding help, I've got it all setup now :)

A couple of them were purchased locally at a store in Toronto, and the other ones were printed at Costco (they were customized a bit with our names in the bottom text).

mother of theater! that is simply wonderful!

Thanks! I'm glad you like it :) Lots of hard work, but it was so worth it!

This is my home theater if you can call it that, maybe more of a man cave. It's a work in progress and im still trying to clean it out and rearange some things. I was going to buy 2 end tables and 2 lamps for the back corners, once i find ones i like(appearance and budget wise). I got a cheapo surround system from black friday, and im trying to hook more up to it and trying to conceal the wires somehow.
I dont really use it much right now considering i have no cable or anything up there yet and my parents would make me pay for it ifi got it. I'll be getting a new mac in may for graduation from highschool so the tv will be the main screen for that.

If anyone knows what cables i would have to use to connect the mac to the tv could you send me links or something and also i wanted to do a movie theme so if anyone knows any links for movie posters or wall art dealing with movies.

Thanks!

If you don't mind me asking. How much did you pay for such a setup?

The gear?
From local HT store, we haggled price;
$10k for the main HT gear; Paradigm speakers, Sony PJ, Denon AVR.

Seating for both rows $3.7k
remotes/PS3/misc add $1k.

DIY IB sub + amp about $1.3k,
DIY Acoustic treatments add $500 + $250 for measurement equipment
DIY Screen about $350 for materials

So, $17k give or take....does not include the cost for me to do the whole basement, etc. All DIY.

Very nice theatre, I'm probably located very close to you as I am in SE Michigan as well. By the looks of it, you are probably down the road...

M59/US23, May-2011 held a home theatre meet thru avsforum.

for fun, YouTube clip of the IB subwoofer.
Here are the 34 seconds of the final fight scene in K-F-P, where Panda is fighting Tiger. 126db @ last part, the famous wa-tu-shi finger hold scene!!

I just upgraded. Tremendous sound quality.

Ha - funny.

I still holding on to this...vintage mid 1980's mid-level turntable/cartridge + 50-ish vinyl records....
actually transfered them to iTunes 6-7 years ago with my then 17" iMac G4 and its RCA in jack, don't know what to do with this but can't part with it either......

Simply Amazing. Thank you for giving me something to shoot for lol.

I work @12 mile and Haggerty.

Check out the home theater meet sub-forum @ avsforum.
Look for "HEMI", "Home theater Enthusiast of MIchigan", Michigan based home theater group thru AVS forums.

Was very active before the 2008-2011 recession, now getting active again.
Area Home Theater Meets

I think a spring-2012 HEMI meet will be held, planning being done offline for now.

Really like the dual love seat approach you've taken, in all 3 rows yet.

btw, what sort of acoustic treatments did you incorperate in your dedicated HT?

There is a thread on avsforum for making side wall first reflection panels to establish a RFZ (Reflection Free Zone) for small room acoustics

For treatment, currently the room is stuffed with safe & sound insulation everywhere (all walls, ceiling, risers, stage, speaker platform behind the screen). The ceiling is dropped down about an inch from the joists above (the theatre is in the basement), so that helps the sound from travelling up. The room behind the screen where all the speakers are is fully covered with sound treatment and black fabric. When we made the room, we wanted it to both look good and sound good. I'm sure we could add treatments on the side walls for reflections, but its not like we *really* need them. There's also no space on the wall with the door to put them. The ARC system on the Anthem does a really good job of smoothing out the FR across the sweet spot (second row), so that also helps out sound-wise. If we were just going for pure sound, then I would put treatments in more places, but its perfect for us the way it is (just maybe some new subs ;)) haha. AVS helped a ton when making it (I'm 'bleeker' on there).

Great home theater.....one question that's hard to tell from the photos....how much headroom is there for the back row? It almost looks like folks would have to duck when on the top stair to get into those seats - maybe it's just the perspective in the photo...
