I wonder why they changed the dock--the new dock looks like crap and the old version fits in with the overall theme of Mac OS.

I don't think the iOS 6 dock would fit in with the general iOS 7 theme and all its translucency etc. but I think I would like it even better with less blur.

It was too skeuomorphic for the new design.
I wouldn't be surprised if the 3D dock's days are numbered on OS X.
.
I never was a fan of the 3D look (used the 2D one) but I don't really like the "frosted glass" look of iOS 7's either.

I like to use seasonal pictures. On the lock screen, I like some detail, since there's not much to obscure it, but on the home screen, I like to use a more abstract picture so it doesn't look so busy with the icons over it. Here's my Summer theme:

I'm still in the middle. I think the style of the Facebook icon (which you have) is the best. It's not flat but it's not glossy either. It just looks solid. I think the Apple icons should be more like that.

I agree with that. I don't need icons that look like they have clear coat or lacquer on them, but I appreciate some richness and depth.

iOS 7 still looks a bit generic to my eye, and the colors are just garish. Still hate the icons, although I don't use many of the stock apps, so it might not matter as much.

Post #731 in this thread (home screen with Apple icons hidden in folder) looks ok to me. I can live with that.
