As made evident by my signature, I do not currently have an iPhone. And at the moment I do not have my fourth generation Touch running IOS 4 with me. Sooo, I'll post screenshots of my first gen jailbroken Touch instead :D

Keeping it simple. I wish you could place the icons wherever you want but iOS doesn't let you unless they are aligned to a grid and the line is full. :(

You can use Gridlock, which lets you place icons freely without the use of blank icons. You can get it from Cydia.

This is something I'll have to try. I've been using iblank all this time and it becomes a pain to use when I need quite a few empty spaces.
