iPhone 16e Sales Lag Behind SE Models Despite Bestseller Status
The iPhone 16e is one of Europe's top-selling smartphones, yet its early sales figures still lagged significantly behind those of Apple's...www.macrumors.com
It's funny how easily headlines can change the tone of this.

"Counterpoint Research finally gives Apple some good news from Europe"
"iPhone 16e Breaks Into The Top 10 Best-Selling Smartphones In Europe"
"iPhone 16e selling well in Europe but can't beat its cheaper siblings"
"The iPhone 16e ranked sixth in the top 10 best-selling smartphones in March 2025, the first full month of the model’s sales"

We have no idea if it’s a “failure”. Is it losing tons of money for Apple? That’s is all that matters.Well....
if a new product is about to fail on the market, the marketing dpt. is always publishing /pretending that their failing new product is about to get the most demanded , sky-rocketing product on earth.... 🤣
Until they cannot deny any more that their new product is just irrelevant.
Do you shoot using Apple Camera app or other camera apps found in the App Store?
Do you post-process or post as is?
Do you shoot in RAW, ProRAW, HEIC, JPEG?
I can't post since I don't have an iPhone 16e but I'm curious regarding your shooting habits/workflow.
Regardless of which iPhone you have (with or without MagSafe), the MagSafe magnet in the case is the weakest link. The solution is to buy a quality case, and not a cheap one. I have a Spigen Enzo Aramid case on my 16e, and the magnet in that case is so strong that I have to use a little force to remove the MagSafe plug from the back.I just got the iPhone 16e for my kid, after the XR started having some problems. The good news is Apple offered their full XR trade-in value despite it showing several problems. Seems like a fine phone, and the kid is overjoyed.
Neither of us care much about the Dynamic Island. It's very responsive and works well as the binned A18 still feels top tier, and the lack of ProMotion isn't a big deal to us. The lack of MagSafe is also basically irrelevant since for less than US$10, I bought a MagSafe case which included a tempered glass screen protector as well. The MagSafe magnets in that third party case seem just as strong as Apple's. I suppose one drawback is that the 16e won't charge as fast wirelessly as the flagship iPhones, but then again 7.5 Watt charging of the 16e may possibly protect battery longevity. Furthermore, if you're in a big rush and you really want fast charging, the best solution is USB-C. IOW, the lack of MagSafe in this model can go completely unnoticed if you are going to use a case anyway, since you can just get a case with MagSafe embedded. People will argue that some cases don't have strong MagSafe magnets, but that's not unique to the 16e, so that's not really a valid argument if you're going to use a case.
The main reason I wouldn't get this iPhone for myself is the single camera lens and the screen size, as I like having a three lens camera system and a larger screen - but that means iPhone Pro Max at considerably higher cost. However, for my kid, the single lens camera is an improvement over the single lens camera of the XR, and the screen size is the same.
I looked at other models, but nothing made sense price-wise at this time. The 15 cost more, and the 16 cost even more. Even a like new refurb 15 from respectable third party shops cost more, and the refurb 15 Pro cost a lot more. Fly-by-night shops had cheaper refurbs, but I won't buy from those.
Just hit 80 cycles since powering it on for the first time on the 4th March.

You've probably said it elsewhere, but do you use any optimization or limits?
After playing with the 16e more, I am really, really glad I got the 16e instead of the 15. The lack of a wide angle lens and macro support would be a bummer for me, but my kid so far hasn't missed it and on the flip side really loves the Photos Clean Up tool. Also, the Audio Mix feature is truly remarkable, and has become a must have feature for me. It vastly improves audio capture in some situations, even though it's not pro microphone level.I looked at other models, but nothing made sense price-wise at this time. Happy Canada Day!
The kids and their friends are running a lemonade stand today. The various kids brought their phones and being the geek I am, I borrowed an iPhone 11 and 13 to check the cameras. Each of those has two lenses.
Our old XR had a single lens and just one optical zoom option at 1X.
I was reminded that despite the 11, 12, 13, 14 all having dual lenses, they had only 2 optical zoom options, at 0.5X, 1X.
Despite having only 1 lens, the 16e also gets 2 "optical" zoom options, 1X, 2X (due to the 48 MP 1X).
The iPhone 15 and 16 get 0.5X, 1X, 2X (due to the 48 MP 1X).
BTW, some of the kids bought those older phones as refurbs relatively recently. Interestingly, nobody wanted the minis. It looks like all wanted a phone that was at least 6".
