Ordered a 16 GB gold 5S at 12:05 PST. Through the Sprint store. Order confirmed.... received this email one minute later...

Update: 64gb Space Gray AT&T, just changed (7 pm-ish 9-21-13) from processing to preparing for shipment, 2nd one appx 5 mins later still shows preparing for shipment.
Update: 2nd one changed to preparing for shipment about 7:30pm pacific.
Update: Both shipped last night ups, deliver 26th

Radio Shack called at 1015am and said my 5s was in.I was # 2 on the list,so either #1 passed or they received more than 1 gold 16g AT&T.I was #1 for the 5 and got it on release day also-but 1 was only 1 of 2 last year.
Just got a shipping confirmation email for my 32gb silver 5S.
Shipped out from China today (22nd), and expected delivery on the 26th. UPS shipping say delivery date of 24th, but I assume that's when it will reach the US. That's how it was with my iPad mini.

Stopped in at the local Apple Store on launch day around 5:30pm. Checked inventory and was given a card for a Verizon 16gb Space Gray - exactly what I wanted. Waited in line with the card about 10 deep. Was in within 20 minutes. Activated and out the door in about 40 minutes.
Sold my white i5 to Gazelle for $325. Kept my unlimited data on Verizon by paying full retail price for the 5s.

Grabbed a 32 GB Space Grey today. Very pleased. I thought I wanted silver but after seeing all 3 at the Apple Store, color really is not that big of a deal. Its going in a case.
Went to Verizon store and they gave me $200 for my 4S. More than Gazelle etc. Easy transaction.
** Not disparaging anyone's choice here but I saw the gold and its really not all that great. Its a very light yellow and almost looks white. It's cool but really not worth standing in line for or waiting weeks for. Again, if thats what you want great but it is not as gold as on Apples site.

was going to pick up a silver 64 today in store after finding out that in store pick up was online. activation and upgrade eligibility got all messed up, so I will be a proud owner in less than 24 hours.
Just a word of warning, if you get locked out of your wireless account while trying to log in on the apple site you wont be able to get an iPhone for 24 hours due to Apples security lock...

Fortunately AT&T is letting us keep our unlimited data plan and still giving the subsidized phone. I've been getting 2 each year since the beginning, this year my wife's as well as mine are the 64gb. Ordered in gray as I don't like the white on the face of other choices. Always keep in a case and can't see the back or sides well anyway. Supposed to be delivered Thursday, ordered at 12:02 and 12:08-ish, not sure why a day later than others I've heard. Didn't see an option for expedited shipping during checkout or I'd have selected that for sure. I got $465 64gb and $425 32gb for old 4s's on ebay appx 6 months ago, expect about the same from 5's. AT&T will unlock them making easier to sell. Makes it less painful on the pocketbook. I almost switched to Verizon as we're in Flag and no LTE, tested their 5 and slower than my limited 3g I had at the time, not sure about now though. glad I waited, LTE is everywhere now and a lot faster plus multitasking is a big plus. I don't blame you for keeping your unlimited, that would be foolish to give up.
