My regular phone broke (cough:I threw it) so I've been using a friend's extra business phone. Fortunately I held off on getting a new one, making the 3G announcement a gift from heaven. Hopefully less throwing will happen with my future precious iPhone.

I'm going to be replacing the Sync with the iPhone 3G... =p Although... not really liking the BJII's WM 6.0... lol

Got this last Christmas

and yes, my girlfriend made me that background.

I might pick up a iphone 3g just to see how it compares to that blackjack 2, but right now im in love wit the blackjack 2 because i use it as a modem for my macbook when i am on the road and i get the awesome speed of 3G anywhere i want. Plus Opera Mini is superfast.

Nokia 6682 unlocked and T-mobile Sidekick 3... interestingly each of them cost more than the iPhone.

For a few days I used phone "B". Than I realized that I am so addicted to the internet, that I can't deal with that piece of crap. So, I bought a used, cheap phone "A" on eBay.

I remeber buying this telephone because "It's not a RAZR..." a couple of years ago. I didn't really like it then, but I hate it now.

Bump...

So let me get this straight. If I sell my current iPhone on the bay for some coin to buy my 3G version in a few weeks...I could just throw my SIM into my old Audiovox SMT5600 and get the unlimited data, etc (basically the same plan features as my iPhone minus the phone)???

Then when it comes time to go buy my 3G...I don't have to actually present my 2.5G iPhone in order to allow me to cancel/void my current iPhone plan and get the new subsidized phone and new 2 year contract???

I know I read somewhere on here that all AT&T needs to know (as far as validation of me being a current iPhone owner) is that I'm paying the iPhone plan. Is this for sure?

Please advise...

Ya, you're set. I talked to AT&T about it directly, and as long as you don't change your contract, you're fine. I'm using a crappy Motorola V557 right now. Sold the old iPhone on eBay a couple weeks ago for $400.

Thanks...

So what steps did you take before prepping your iPhone for sale on the bay?
I'm guessing you saved off everything first. Then what, do a reformat, and just pull your SIM?

I had read that there's been hackable ways to get data off the phone even after a reformat, is this a concern?

Any help would be great!
Thanks...

:p

Tell me about it...
On the second to last day of school, it was on "Silent" mode.
Of course, the only good feature was its extremely loud speaker, which decided to go off in class during finals. I was phoneless for 2 days after that.

I also sold my iphone on ebay for what I paid for it.

I am using the samsung SGH-D807 slider..... I hate it....what was a cool full featured phone two years ago is like a brick to me now.

I previously had an iPhone since "i" day last year, and I guess I dont realize what I had. I hate checking my voice mail, and the mobile email is barely worth having. I feel so uninformed, I used to spend countless hours on the internet when I was waiting in line for food, waiting for meetings to start or just away from my desktop.

I just cannot wait until the 11th. Until then, I guess I will have to listen to the last 5 voicemails until I can hear the one I want to hear.

Visual Voicemail was and is all its cracked up to be. :(

What about selling your existing iPhone without the SIM? Do you just buy a cheap replacement and pop it in for the sale?

Piece of ****. Dropped it in a whirlpool a few days ago on accident. Been trying to fix it. Everything works but the screen. It's completely white. 16 more days...
