Hi,

doesn anyone have any recommendations of Sit/Stand desks for home use under $500CAN ? Even IKEA has limited selection and all over that price. I keep checking kijiji in my city for any corporate office listings yet nothing yet.

thus far I’ve seen stationary desks only.

I’ve got one and really like it. My only criticism is that my magic Mouse doesn’t track on the glass top so I bought a nice aluminum mousepad to fix that. Great desk though. I’m very happy with it.

Yes, that looks like it would take some getting used to...like, throwback to the first typing class in middle school or something. But I can see how it could alleviate pain. Which is the spacebar?

Hah! You’re not wrong I went from over 80wpm to about 10wpm ?. In the 2 weeks I’ve had the keyboard, I’m back up to speed and getting quicker.

The keyboard is 100% programmable so it could be anywhere you want. For my layout, space is the outermost grey key on the right hand side, enter is the next grey key. On the right hand side, backspace is the outer grey key, and delete is the next one.

On my (Ikea Linnmon/Adils) desk currently: Blackmagic eGPU, generic laptop stand, 2016 13" MacBook Pro, LG Ultrafine 5K, Ikea Forsa lamp with Hue bulb, Hue Playbar, Sonos Play:5, generic Qi charger, Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad 2, Magic Mouse, Classicbot Classic! I use a reupholstered Giroflex G64 chair which is a lot more comfortable for longer work sessions than anything I've used in the past.

I guess it feels like not a lot has changed over the years, but only the Magic Mouse (I've used the same Magic Mouse since 2009) and corkboard remain.

could you please tell me which MacBook stand that is??
very nice

I love seeing all the photos but I'm constantly amazed at how clean and tidy everyone's homes/rooms are. My house is a mess (having two young children is the main factor!)

You should absolutely unleash the cyclonic disarray that children bring to any tidy computer setup. :D

ooh man don’t you worry. When your kids grow up and are well accomplished with their setups ... you get to fully return the favour by messing up their place.

the fun all comes as it’s all in reverse. Silly adult-lesence, then the tween like whining and screaming and crying ... then comes the best part diapers and all the mistakes ;)

Really dug out the past pictures to compare with the present - not a lot has changed really, though there are the relatively recent additions of the Philips Hue Playbar and LG Ultrafine monitor.

I was very tight on space but it turns out I really enjoy the vertically stacked monitor setup. Late 2013 27" iMac with Thunderbolt display, MX Keys, and M570 trackball. Not pictured is my iPad Pro I use with Duet for a 3rd display when needed.

I've moved out of my parents' house and got my own tiny place and a tiny 73x50cm IKEA MICKE desk. Basically half of what I used to have, as seen over here, but I now also have a dedicated living room with TV and couch, which is nice too ?

1. Mac mini base model
2. Lenovo L27q-10 (€230/1440p/27", amazing value and looks IMO)
3. Apple Pro Speakers (USB Cube model; info on restoration and using them with modern Macs)
4. 7-port USB hub with 2 charging ports in the drawer with some external storage connected

I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to leave it on my desk or get a 12 south backpack and put it behind the display.
having the mac mini behind that apple display is a good look it sorta makes it look like an updated imac with no chin. I do wish they had an apple display with updated thinner bezels that maybe didnt cost 5 grand.
