Here is a better picture of my setup posted back on page 49, post #1219..
Everything is working out great although my monitor wasn't turning on... Nothing was broken I just had to keep unplugging it and replugging it for some reason..

New monitor, haven't got the base unit yet.. getting it sometime this week or something. It's currently hooked up to my laptop.

I did this to my old car in college as well. There is a lot of documentation in the mac-mini car installation forum at http://www.mp3car.com . You can purchase a 12V to mac-mini adapter from them and you basically just wire it up like a normal computer (you have to wire it into the power button as well as it controls sleep/shutdown/wakeup/boot). I had a touch screen (usb and vga) 7 inch motorized flip out, though you wouldn't necessarily need a touch screen. There are several people that have opensource mac-mini for car interfaces (basically just an app formated for 7" touchscreens with links to gps, music, video, etc.). I used a bluetooth cellphone for the internet connection. I didn't install in the next car when I got rid of that one because of the interface issues at the time, it just wasn't as smooth as a lot of the other stuff out there.

I'd have to say this is the nicest setup I've seen. I'm *very* jealous :p

I'm hoping to upgrade to a Mac Pro this summer, but there's no way I could either afford a 30" ACD (Let alone a new LCD TV), or fit a desk that size in my room. :(

Navigate to System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app Right Click and "Show Package Contents." Navigate to Contents/Resources and locate "vortex.png" (no quotations).

I'm going to +1 for the question on the stand. There was another one posted here but nothing will slide under it past the width of a keyboard because there's a piece of metal that stops it. I've been looking for a place to slide my wacom. Right now it sits ON the base of the ACD.

yeah thats how my macbook sits at the moment. isnt ideal, its a little wobbly. id be interested in one of those stands too.
