MBP Core i7, 17inch AntiGlare Mid 2010

Here's the one I have been using after calibrating with a Spider2. It seems to be working quite well so far. Brightness at -4 from the brightest setting.

I just got my Macbook Pro HR-AG, how do I add the two calibrated profiles to my Macbook Pro?

I found out the answer on another thread here. You go your downloads and drag the profile onto your desktop. Then put it into your home/library/colorsync/profile folder. Then go to System Preferences/Displays/Colour and select the profile you want.

I have recalibrated with a Spider3Express and the resulting profile is attached. Slightly different than the one I posted before (which was done with a Spider2Express).

Anyone have one specific to the HR Anti-Glare
9CBB
LP154WE3-TLB1
LG-Philips

display?

Thanks

Here is mine, probably with about 80% brightness... Not really a big fan of this display: not quite bright enough and still poor viewing angles.

thanks for these. i haven't tried them yet, but am wondering:

did your display have a blue-violet cast, out of the box? i have the same machine you do (i7 17" matte finish), and that's what i'm attempting to combat. there are quite a few posts about it in the apple discussions, but since you didn't mention "blue" or "violet" specifically, i wonder if the profiles you've posted were to address that issue or something else.

Mine is also very blue, I can't stand it. I wanted to bring it to an Apple Store to get them to exchange it, but since it was built-to-order, I gave up on that idea pretty quickly. The vertical viewing angles are pretty bad too. So you're not alone. I've been trying a few colour profiles and have yet to find the perfect one. Since I also have a problem with the charger, I'll have to go to the Apple Store to get it replaced, I'm not sure if I should show them the screen. I guess it's how Apple wants it to be and they'll tell me it's normal.

I love everything else about this computer, though :)

although i'm as frustrated as you are, i disagree with this statement. they get parts from various sources, and this current lot of lcd displays happens to be blueish. though i hate it, i disagree that this is "how apple wants it to be."

that said, they should include more color profiles and better color-calibration software with the mac. the calibration software that's included is horrific.

I agree with you 100%.

I received my Mac about 3 weeks ago, do you think Apple would agree to exchange it if I went to the Apple Store and complained? Should I call Apple Care first? If people can exchange a MacBook for a silly little scratch on the wrist rest or a screen that is 1/100th of a millimeter off center like some people have done on this forum, surely they would also agree to exchange it for a screen that is way too blue and a charger that doesn't work, right?

Does anyone here have any experience with this? What should I do? Is 3 weeks to much? If I go, it would be next Tuesday, about a month after I've received it. Should I print out the UPS notice and the Apple order status page?

If there's genuinely something wrong with it, ask them to replace the screen (i.e. as a repair). They did it for me and my MBP is now perfect (the original screen was out of gamut on blues no matter what calibration I did - drove me mad!).

PRO: fast (possible a couple of hours)
PRO: free

CON: you have to get to an Apple Store
CON: you can't directly compare to the previous screen

Can I really do that? That's a wonderful idea, I'll certainly try it next week. Does it matter that I bought my MBP on the online Apple Store?

I think it's wrong that the screen is so blue, whatever profile I choose. I just don't know if they'll say it's not worth changing. Should I just keep pressing, saying it's too blue for me and that I feel I made a mistake buying another Mac, something like that? I guess I can ask them to compare it to other computers in the store first.

Anyway, thanks a LOT for your answer.

Thanks for the profile for the 17" AG, looks great, really an improvement with the contrast range and colors look good

Extremely sorry to raise a 1-year-old thread from the graveyards, but I really need this.

Anyone got a calibration profile for LP154WE3-TLA2 Hi-res Glossy? Thanks.

I know this thread is crazy old, but I just wanted to say thanks for the awesome display profile. It is perfect on my 2010 MBP, Hi-res, AG at 100% brightness.
