Why did you have to tease us up here in the NorthWest! I got to drive many miles when I visit CA to enjoy those, my kids made it a hobby. I know In n Out is bad for you and high calorie but DAMN, kids and DAD LOVE those double doubles with grilled onions!

I was born and raised in CA, my kids born and raised in WA. They love visiting CA and their grandparents and eating out all the darn time. We need this darn franchise up HERE!
Time for another trip. :)

Some great photos here. Just did my first two photos today, nothing special. I just wanted to see how the camera faired on my iPhone 6s+ as I updated from a 5s.
Just some pictures of my chemistry today. Those who are chemistry keen; I was using copper today hence the bright blue colour.

very nice framing,
but that specific pic really "reveal" the camera's inability to provide better detail in the shadows..
who knows, maybe another picture with a little different settings would have provided a different result.

That really all different depends on what app you use dude. Cortex camera would've been great because it takes the many photos and you can stretch the shadows without getting noise. Average camera pro would've done a nice job here and made the waterfall more silky and smooth looking like long exposure to do. You have to take in mind that many people that take photos with their iPhone are not photographers. So it all depends on your skill and how you can handle situations like this and know how to analyze a scene before you photograph it. You can't really sit there and say that the camera doesn't do well in the shadow areas, because it really does. Like I said it just depends on your technique and how you photograph the image. Sometime soon I'm going to take a photo at night and show you guys what the iPhone is capable of.

i agree on that. just stated the fact that in THIS pic, it would be interesting to test the competitors to see how they handle all this complicated dark areas. not sure they'll do any better.
again, not that i care that much anyway. it's just that these threads make me over analyze.

I see...

also, aside for the more sharphness other phone cams do have,
the Iphone seems to render FAR BETTER colors out of the box.
this and decent low light on the 6s+ is quite enough for me.
even if once in a while i'll need to make a photo bigger than that NR "limit",
i'm sure it's no big deal.

you serious?

why not? it's decent regarding all these cams..
i really don't care.
FOR ME it's ok, i don't need more.
would have liked to have better this and that..
but seriously, i'm fine with 90% of these pictures in the thread,
so...
what's your point?

picture quality is my point :D
but i think the other thread is better for this stuff, so we'll leave it at that here...

Well, good news is there are some significantly impressive improvements coming to Cortex. If you're interested, you can sign up for the TestFlight beta updates. Here's what the 6 Plus is capable of:
