Are those clickable + and - buttons meant to do anything? Mine don't change the volume at all.

Then take it to an Apple Store, they will replace them.

just for the thread's sake, how did you edit your photos?

PhotoTreats, Pano, TiltShift were used in those. Pano, obviously, was only the one picture. TiltShift in any that had a blur effect, and PhotoTreats for all, i believe.
