Here are a few from this morning. Low-light performance dramatically improved. It's still noisy, as to be expected, but picks up details that were totally omitted when I shot the same photos with my 3GS.

Is there much delay between tapping the screen and the photo being shot?
What's the shutter speed like?
I'd like to use mine whilst out BMX'ing to get some shots but I'll miss most of them if there's a huge delay.
Thanks

It takes less than a second to save the pic, basically immediate vs the 3GS taking about 2 seconds.

You can't control shutter speed but it will do the same thing the 3GS did; you press and HOLD the shutter, wait for the right moment then release. You'll catch what you wanted to.

There's almost no delay at all--the shot is taken pretty much instantaneously, and there's a split-second of recovery time before you're ready to take the next shot. Very fast.

And for those who may be curious, running Hipstamatic on the iPhone 4 is like night and freaking day as compared to the 3GS. It's SO fast now! Yes, there's still a bit of delay while it's doing its post-processing work on the image, but it's easily 4-5x faster now. I'm really excited about that.

This is mainly thanks to the iOS4 update, because it's super fast on the 3GS too as long as you have iOS4

Another picture from today guys - Poor light on this one as well so very impressed with the outcome.

Here are three photos of the same subject;

The first two are wide angle and then 100% crop (in photoshop) of the same picture, no resizing or retouching. Just cropped and saved at whatever size it turned out to be.

The third picture is a separate picture of the same subject but having used the 5x digital zoom and tap to focus (which made no difference in quality). No resizing or retouching.

Click on each pic for their respective full size.

Whats with everyone posting pics of BMW's?

How about a little american muscle.

*snip!*

 That's sick! I bet it hauls ass.

Let me jump in the game a little. I just uploaded a set of some random pictures from my iPhone 4 on Flickr here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ajerman/sets/72157624232622903/

And here's a sample:

Sorry, not a premium member so I can't upload any bigger than 1024x765. On a disappointing note, I noticed that Flickr says the pictures were taken with an iPhone 3G. I'm not really sure why Apple decided to tag the photos with simply "iPhone" as the camera model.
