I replaced that LCD four years ago, so I'm not getting to this anytime soon, LOL!
When I have the time and funds to do it I definitely will. However, it is far away from my priority list!
Strangely enough, that's what I am planning for the side panel of the B&W that nobody wanted, but if I go for the glowing Apple idea the clock face will go to one of the bottom corners.

Just so there's no confusion, mine won't be a clock. All I'm going for is a light panel, lamp, whatever you want to call it. No clock.
It's intended to be a soft glowing kind of art object. Something you'll see on the wall that will invoke the thought "Apple shrine!" That kind of thing.

Hey, I have an old iBook G4 screen cover! I could shove an LED behind it and throw an old clock into it and see how that works out, LOL. This could indeed be an interesante competition..

I did have a little time tonight to look at LEDs online, and can't find anything better than a string or something that would be battery operated. Maybe sometime next week I can check out a hardware store in town.
What are those two PowerBook G4s for? I thought you had your two 17"ers; what are these for?
Yes, that is my son's 1.0Ghz Titanium DVI.

The Titanium is my son's PowerBook. The other one across from it (that you can just see with the Apple logo on the back of the LCD) is my 17" 1.0Ghz.
My wife's 12" PB and my other 17" 1.67ghz are the two I said you cannot see. They are in the room but the 17" was in my bag and my wife's 12" was to my right (and thus not in the picture).

Welcome to MacRumors! That is actually a really nice display and G4. You could run Leopard on there and have a really modern feeling machine! Though Tiger isn't bad at all, Leopard definitely has better software support for more modern programs. Your Mac has plenty of power to run it.
