Been driving my Acura TLX for about a month now and it's the best Acura I've owned (My 7th Acura). The transmission is smooth as butter. The technology amazing but not intrusive. And man, it's fun to drive!

O'Really ? 30mpg ?

Methinks you are exaggerating a bit.

According to Edmunds, the Genesis 4.6 will get 17/25.

According to Fuelly, people get an avg. of 19.7 mpg in real world driving.

That's why I posted the picture...of course this is only if I am straight hwy driving. Mixed around town it is more like 21-22. All city I get 17-18.
Since I am in Austin join me for a road trip for evidence......

Yeah, ok, that's under very narrow conditions.

When it comes to fuel efficient and powerful, there's not much that beats my current ride, 2010 BMW 335d.

265hp / 425nm, I got an avg. 34mpg for my last 12,500 miles.
(tracked by Fuelly.com)

Highway at 55mp/h on cruise control, I get up to 42 mpg.

My 2012 Camry Hybrid is great. I got it new and for close to what the dealer wanted for the non-hybrid equivalent model. I'm almost 6'3" and can fit well in it. No issues whatsoever with reliability and the gas mileage is amazing. The only thing that isn't so great is the awful stock radio. But, at least it has an AUX input.

Satisfaction: I'd say 9 out of 10. I found little to fault this car, ie the radio.

Next Car: Depends on my future endeavors.

Yeah. I've had three different Camry Hybrids over the years. The sound systems were dreadful. One of them had the upgraded JBL system though... that wasn't too bad.

Not totally unbelievable. Every car I've owned has scored over EPA. EPA is extremely conservative.

My Acura is rated 28 hwy... I get 33-34 on my trips. Registered by both the Automatic dongle, and miles / gallons at fill up.

Love them both. Hoping the Insight will be with us for 10+ years, and will never sell the 205.

And I recently sold this. Not as great as some would say...

Sure on the right day, right road, right everything, it was great. But days like that were too few and far between. Don't miss it. Thinking of buying an MX-5 to replace it as my old one was far more fun than the Lotus!

2009 Acura TL

There's been some minor quirks with this car, but my warranty along with my Acura dealer have covered everything. Right now my TL is there getting some work done on the radio (buttons not working) and a noise presumably from the starter. All covered by the extended warranty and I have an ILX loaner for the time being. That's what I love about Acura, I don't have to worry about taking my car in because they set me right up with a loaner.

With the car itself, it drives beautifully especially at higher RPMs. It's loaded with tech even being the base model; which is awesome. I didn't have to worry about adding silly "packages" just to get a sunroof or power seats. Speaking of the seats, they are comfy

My arm rest is wearing out though, which is considered "wear and tear" so not covered under the warranty. Might just pay and get it replaced once it tears.

Like I said, for Hwy only, it's probably possible.

OP didn't make that clarification (Hwy only) until later.
I thought he was talking average for mixed driving.

These minor issues are common with Hondas, but they tend to be solid as a whole.

As far as the loaner, I had an RLX last time I had the TSX worked on. Before that I had an MDX. When my old Audi was in the shop, I was put in a Subaru Legacy. I like Subarus fine, but I paid for an Audi so I would expect an Audi loaner. Acura's treatment has been night and day to the crap the local Audi dealer put me through.

It blows me away how many things come standard with the Acura lineups. If I wanted to get an A4 with similar features to my TSX, I would have to spend at least $10,000 more for the four rings. Now if only they could get their AWD across the board instead of on just the top of the line models, we would be talking.

My arm rest is wearing out though, which is considered "wear and tear" so not covered under the warranty. Might just pay and get it replaced once it tears.

Unfortunately that just kind of happens.

I plan on leasing the AWD TLX very soon. I'm also sucker for a nice dash, the those two screens have me drolling. The ads talk about how quiet it is. Please do post a mini review. :D

Right now I'm driving an 2006 Passat and I want to blow it up to pieces. Never again will I go VW.

2014 Lincoln mkZ AWD 3.5 v6
AWD great for punching it - and gripping the road
Just discovered "S" mode which keeps the rpms up and downshifts when you let off the gas - now its much more fun to drive
16.1 mpg - before I found the "S" mode - will be worse after - but gas is cheap and high rpm feel is well worth the co2 burn!

2013 Honda Odyssey
10/10 - remote sliding doors - kids jumping in and out - what's not to like

2009 Jeep JK 2DR
5" Lift, 36" tires, no doors
Kids jumping in and out - what's not to like
Destroys my back after driving more than 5 minutes
10/10 for rambling dirt roads
0/10 for actual driving

The ads speak the truth. Never been in a quieter car.

I wanted an AWD but it would have taken until January, maybe February to get it so I opted for non-AWD.

My buddy, who is as much a Lexus guy as I am an Acura guy is considering one.

Meh. If you can't go SHAWD, might as well save the two vacations and get the I4. That DCT is fantastic. Loved my test drive while my car was getting its B1 service.

If I decide I want something safer than my TSX, I would consider a TLX I4 tech, for sure.

Ouch. How are you doing that ?

Fuelly reports real world consumption of around 23 mpg for the MKZ.
Almost sounds like something is't working as it should.

2011 BMW e92 335, with 6 speed manual, sports package, iDrive, premium audio. I bought it at 15k miles, now at 31,500 miles and so far I haven't had any issues becides a single trip to the dealer for a VANOS recall. Its by far the best car I've owned and is a great combination of sporty and practical.

Things I like:
Super torquey turbo straight 6
Good balance of handling vs ride comfort
Very attractive exterior styling, should age well
Cockpit is just a nice place to be, simple logically laid out controls
Lots of cargo space, trunk is very large and the rear seats fold flat
Very mod-able, upgrading and adding options is fairly easy
Good fuel economy, I can eek out 26mpg average on a tank of mixed commuting without driving like a complete grandma, but I usually see about 23 combined. On long highway trips I typically average 34mpg.

Things I don't like:
Oil changes are somewhat expensive and difficult. I've ended up going to the dealer as its about the same cost as just buying the oil alone.
Some parts of the car just seem like they will break eventually. The seatbelt extenders are a good example.
I regret not holding out for a car with more options, heated seats didn't seem like a must have at first but after driving other cars with them... Fortunately some options have been easy to retrofit, such as power folding side mirrors.
It is a heavy car, and while it holds the weight very well I will be looking for ways to drop a few lbs.

Thanks for the pros and cons. It seems that those of us with reasonably deep pockets on a budget have to choose between amazing driving experience (BMW 3) and an amazing assortment of standard features (Acura/Lexus offerings). To get the options you get standard on a TLX in an Audi or BMW costs a pretty penny. But dang, those Bimmers are fun to drive.

Know what's funny ?

Got the heated seats, and with it, it came with a heated steering wheel.

OMG, the heated steering wheel is the best thing since sliced bread. I could go w/o heated seats, but I don't know if I can ever have a car again w/o heated steering wheel. I HATE COLD HANDS while driving. :)

Buy used. I had to wait a year to find the right one but I eventually did (250 miles away) but paid under 30k for essentially a brand new car.

While it doesn't have every feature under the sun it hit all my must haves, and most of the things I found out later I wanted (dimming and folding side mirrors, auto-dimming rear mirror, backup camera) I have been able to retrofit pretty easily and at minimal cost ($650+ a $100 cable to add all of those things).

I'll trade heated seats for a proper manual and rear wheel drive any day of the week. But I'll still keep checking craigslist for someone parting out e9x with black heated sports seats... :)

Post Your Satisfaction with Your Current Car

2013 Kia Optima SX, premium package, Infinity sound system, navigation, touch screen radio, Sirius XM, back up camera, sunroof, turbo charged, heated and cooled front seats, and heated back seats, leather seats, and gorgeous. Bought it brand new in 2013 for almost $7k under sticker price. Car now has 20k on it.

Pros

- It's quick but unassuming (seriously it's a Kia).

- The 10 year 100,000 mile power train warranty. Everything else has a 5 year 60,000 mile warranty.

- Has great audio and navigation (I'm directionally challenged).

- The color is stunning (Corsa Blue Metallic).

- It's fun to drive.

Cons

- Gas mileage... I get about 20-22mpg city. The turbo guzzles gas.

- The only other gripe I have with this car isn't normal for Kias at least in my experience. This is my 3rd Kia (had a Rio and as Forte). This is the only Kia I had a major mechanical issue out of. My engine started knocking at almost 20k and had to be replaced due to a spun bearing. They had the car done super fast (like 4 days counting the day it got there). I've never had an issue like this before so I don't think it's a huge con but it does happen.

My fiancé and dad are both mechanics so they handle all the maintenance. My dad works for Kia and my fiancé for Nissan. So I can really give anyone maintenance costs since I really don't have to pay for my maintenance.

All in all I love my car.

Tesla Model S (P85 and P85D).

I used to drive the P85 until I ordered the P85D (waiting for delivery). Now my mom drives the P85. I was impressed with the P85 in every single aspect. Amazing technology and emission-free driving. It packs in a lot of power too. I bought the P85D primarily because of Autopilot and extended range. I'm already satisfied with the power in the original P85, so the extra power of the P85D doesn't really mean much to me.

BMW 760Li (purchased in late-2013)

This car has been quite an annoyance to me and my dad (he primarily drives it, but I drive it when I need to ferry bulky goods or people), for all its little faults with electronics. There was once when the engine suddenly quit on me while waiting at the traffic lights and wouldn't restart. The service center traced it back to an electronic fault. There's also other little faults that didn't warrant a trip to the service center, but was enough to make driving an annoyance (such as a seatbelt warning that wouldn't register a buckled seatbelt and kept bonging, shorted out screen in the center console and a radio that kept resetting by itself).

But anyway, the car's been running smoothly without any faults for the past 4 months already *knocks on wood*

The car itself is a lovely car, but if BMW could get their act together and fix up its little faults that seem to affect quite a number of other BMW owners that I know, that would be even better.
