Yep, absolutely tipping down rain all weekend.

Same here in Northern California. More coverage on the rain and 2 rivers passing flood stage in Sacramento than the moon.

Been the norm here for the last few events.. Last 2 Lunar eclipses, and the last solar eclipse.. all screwed by clouds and rain. :(

BL.

Highest level drought since 1996 - they reckoned it would take 10 years to break.

We've done it in 8 months. Bloody tipping down.

I just used my phone, so no zoom or anything :(

It's raining here. This is a photo of the extreme supermoon from December 2008. D2X, 300/f4 with 1.4x TC, 1/200 @ f8 and ISO 200, spot meter, mirror locked up and cable release used.

taken from North London, England.
First one with a Panasonic G2, f5.6, 1/400, ISO100, using the 4x digital zoom feature.
Second one my 9 year-old took with his Panasonic LS85 through his Edu-Science 90x telescope

Soon cool pictures, wasn't cloudy here but I didn't get any. Too bad, just got a new battery for my camera too.

East London:

Same image, tighter crop, not downsized (and slightly blurry for that)

(the Thames tide was SO low!)

Later - slight cloud cover over the moon. Spot the green laser from Greenwich marking the prime meridian:

Though flickr reduced the size of all of these from what I originally uploaded but you get the idea.

So very amazing Blue. I love the fact that you kept the harvest moon colors.

Thanks, Jessica. Though I scarcely did it justice. It was quite a sight to behold.

Now the tide has gone right up too. About 5 hours ago it looked like I could have Jesus walked that sucker it was so low. Now it's high as I've ever seen it. I'm not sure I've ever noticed the Thames having such dramatic variations in such a short time span. (I hasten to add, I am not attributing it to the "supermoon", but it's strange nevertheless.)
