does anyone know if it's bad to keep your MB pluged in all the time with the power cord? does this hurt the battery in anyway?

The best thing for the battery is to take it out when running for a long time on the power cord :)

If you run on A/C without the battery installed, the processors will run at reduced speed (1GHz). http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305336

I think the most common thought on this subject is to just run off battery every so often (do a complete cycle every month or so).
