I had a defect with my screen protector so i went ahead and contacted power support about the issue. They asked me for my order number from the powersupport website. I told them that i had purchased the screen protector from the mygearstore ebay store.

This was their response:

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, we do not distribute through mygearstore on ebay. I would contact them as it seems that you have bought a knockoff of our item. I apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your interest.

So i was confused as to whether or not i had received fake screen protectors, so i went ahead and tried to call mygearstore. I called their support number, and each time it would repeat a automated message saying that a representative will be with me, but after like 10 minutes it redirects you to a voicemail option which was not what i wanted. I repeated this procedure 4 times, each time ending with the same result. I tried the live chat option, but after leaving that window open for 10 minutes it redirected me to a email form. If they didn't respond to a phone call or a live chat, i'm going to assume their response to an email will take forever. In the end i filed a paypal dispute. Hopefully this will be all settled soon.

tl;dr Are the power support films being sold through mygearstore fake?

Bought my PowerSupport Combo Film set from myGearStore via Amazon.com.

Perfect condition and not a knockoff as far as I can tell (if it is, it's a damned good one). Don't know what to tell you about the eBay debacle.

I would think they're real. What I am guessing happened is "mygearstore" goes by another name when making a group purchase from PS. It might even buy just a single guy who buys them at a discount, and then resells them on eBay. Could be a single person or the company. I'm guessing this based on previous experience with other companies in similar situations. We know of the eBay store as mygearstore, but when buying from PS they could be "John Doe." Thus PS not knowing who mygearstore is. Plus, based on the auctions, mygearstore is located in Southern California like PS. Coincidence perhaps, but they're close enough where they could make a deal.

I'm pretty sure mygearstore is a website ( www.mygearstore.com ), but last time I looked I couldn't find the PowerSupport films on the website. Plus these eBay listings are "private" so I really don't know what the deal is.

Either way, the films from eBay seem legit and PowerSupport should honor the warranty.

Oh I know they are, I'm just saying, the person buying the PS protectors might just be a lone individual instead of the actual company. Just an example of course. But from what I've seen, the screen protectors on ebay seem legit.

I got my from mygearstore.... there customer service was good.... the sent the wrong one and then sent me the right one, overnight.

I put it on, its good quality. How fake a screen protector reallly get.
