I'll be honest, not a huge fan of the BFP. They stay in my ears well enough, but they are also uncomfortable after a couple hours. That said, my biggest grip was really the case. I've dropped them a couple times just because of the awful slick plastic texture, coupled with the awkward size that makes them not fit that great in pockets. Not sure anything here improves upon that, unless I misread.

Might make a move to try the AirPod Pro 3 going forward and just keep these in the gym bag.
Well if it makes you feel any better the new Powerbeats fit case is just slightly larger than the pro 3’s so finally now it’s more pocketable.

That’s funny, I got the bright yellow BFP’s, because have you ever dropped them down underneath an airplane seat?
I think so, yes. That's definitely a great reason to have obnoxious yellow. I have the worst color for being on planes. The blue is basically every airplane seat or floor.

I've definitely dropped them on a trail and had to comb over brush and rocks to find them. The "Play a sound" to locate them was ineffective due to wind. Actually, not sure I've ever used this feature more than once.

...which begs the question: Is the reason I actually drop them so frequently because I use them so much? Or because there is further fitment refinements to be had??

Stay frosty out there.

Ok so I just got them and I’d say so far they sound very slightly better than the fit pros. The noise canceling is slightly better but still trash compared to the pro 3’s. The eartips are exactly the same as the fit pros and the large was still too small for my ears so I put the spinfit extra large tips I had on the fit pros and got a passing result on the seal test. One feature that is significantly better than the fit pros is the range of the buds which is very similar to the pro 3’s in how far I can get from my phone before they start to cut out. Overall they’re just a slight upgrade from the fit pros but the case is smaller so I’m happy. Let me know if you want any other info.
If you you still have your fit pros, mind doing a microphone comparison test? Record a voice memo with each or something. I know one person that would be very appreciative. :)

Unfortunately as soon as I finished testing the new Powerbeats fit I took the spinfit extra large tips off of the fits pros and happily threw them in the trash. After 4 years I was ready for them to go away. I can tell you that honestly I never had any microphone issues with the fits pros and so far no ones complained about the new Powerbeats fit either

Here and repeatedly over the years I’ve had people stating that the wings broke on their pairs of BFP. Out of interest, how did this usually happen? Inserting into/removing from ears? From the case? Loose in a pocket?

I’m clearly jinxing myself and mine will both snap in the next week after stating that mine seem absolutely fine after 3.5 years of heavy use and fairly rough handling 🤣️
I think it was taking them in/out of ears? Only device I've ever had issues with. The rubber would get the slightest tear and then get worse. I think mine was taking them in/out of case.

As a further aside, 1) I have not had any issues with the wingtips loosening or detaching, and 2) I was using my “work” BFPs to do medical dictation into transcription software on my MacBook Pro, and it worked great; so as far as I’m concerned the microphone was perfectly adequate.

Were the eartips uncomfortable? Comply tips are the way to go.
Actually, that part is fine. I did use different ear buds with the original AirPod Pros though.

My issue is more with the hook that helps them stay in, and I don't think there's much you can do about it.

It seems like Apple are firm on keeping Beats one generation behind Airpods.

So the reason these are still on H1 is probably that Airpods are still on H2.

Powerbeats Fit FEEL like an upgrade over the Beats Fit Pro (my favorite for workouts). HOWEVER, I’m already experiencing static and dropped sound for a second then it usually picks back up. I haven’t figured out if this is from interference in my home or if it’s everywhere I go. I’ll find out this weekend.

Overall, the flexible wingtips/fins, or whatever they're called, feel like the real upgrade here. If it wasn't for the wings tearing I'd likely be using the originals still. I gave my new Powerbeats Pro 2 to my wife. I couldn't deal with the constant contact from the over the ear hook.

Shame on me for not trademarking our company logo years ahead of Beats. Yet shame on their firm for not researching logos before presenting them. Although, we are small, and do mostly healthcare. But it works for them, so that's cool. Nothing is original anymore anyway.
well, while any new brand/identity SHOULD do a little due diligence for similarity/likeness, they can’t be assured to cover all corners of the globe in doing so. And technically, even if the Beats brand identity wasn’t introduced until after yours, it is your responsibility as a mark holder to defend it (demonstrate there would be confusion in the marketplace). You don’t need to have registered it to have a case of infringement, though having done so would have made it a lot easier. (and now that they have a billion dollar brand that IS trademarked and rooted, a hell of a lot bigger hill to climb for you)

I don’t get that really myself. As a single company entity and owner of both brands, all profits go to the same bank account.

There are plenty of things on which to differentiate: just put the same tech in both product lines, with different aesthetics and focus (e.g. active lifestyle versus park-dwelling bookish emo/office types), and charge the same price. Beats high-end earbuds users choose on fitness for purpose and will pay Apple flagship prices.

They are not going to be upsold to a product that doesn’t meet their needs. But they will be angry when they don’t get to experience the same benefits! It’s a lose-lose for the company.
