I have used the first gen and Fit Pro and would use Fit Pro over them any day. They may have made improvements to the hooks now, but I find the wings to be much better.

ESPECIALLY if you wear a hat and sunglasses. The ear hooks are impossible in those cases.

I won't trust any review that doesn't mention this. While its unlikely to be a problem, its an obvious issue from the previous gen that they should at least be acknowledging.

100%. Airpods never stay in ears especially if you sweat a lot while running. Never have to worry about that with the hooks for these.

I have some beats studio buds + currently and I don't know if they also support when paired with an iPhone.

I find that the heart rate sensing with these doesn't make much sense if it's going to default to the Apple Watch when you have that on, because don't most people that would buy these already workout with an Apple Watch already? If you run with a Garmin, wouldn't you want your Garmin watch heart rate to sync with Garmin and passthrough to Apple Health if you care?

Yeah that’s where Apple loses me completely.

No, the heart rate data from the earbuds is synced to the native iPhone Health app, and from there, it can be shared with 3rd party apps like Nike.

My precious purple Powerbeats Pro 2s have shipped with a Feb 13 ETA. I have WAY too much stuff that is purple/lilac/lavender color. I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM YOU HAVE A PROBLEM! 😂

They look great except for the IPX4 water resistance rating. The Jabra Elite 8 Active (Gen 1 and 2) are much better in that regard at IP68. The Gen 2 also has a smart case that allows LE audio streaming from any device which should result in much better battery life.

Like the colours. Orange is nice but I like the lighter purple. Not going to get one as I am satisfied with my AirPods. But wish colours are available on AirPods too.

There are aftermarket "wingtips" for Airpods, but you have to take them off to recharge the Airpods since they won't fit inside the charging case while installed.

It does lossless on Vision Pro. I'm really hoping they get it working on next iPhone. Even if the range is less than 10 feet, would be worth it (especially for latency).

So it does not do lossless with 99.99% of devices in use?
Or does it?

Why apple needs to keep all codec info as a secret?

I hope the durability is much better than the Beats Fit Pro I currently have. Bought them sometime in May so about 7-8 months old when some weeks ago I started noticing the audio in the right earbud was sounding distorted, like a constant whiny background noise. Seems something has gone bad with the ANC, as the distortion disappears if I disable ANC. They definitely did not sound this way from the start and the left earbud has no such distortion.

Thankfully we have excellent consumer laws and mandatory warranties in this part of the world, so will be demanding a replacement. Maybe once replaced I'll sell them and upgrade to the Powerbeats Pro 2 instead.
