If you start off your post with “legally”, then you’re wrong. It shares internals with the AirPods. It has Apple DNA right through it.

And they’re brilliant. I’ve owned a lot of workout headphones over the years and these are the best by far. Brilliant wee things.

Charging case is stupid and gets bad reviews.

Overlaps with other Apple products.

Doesn't look like an apple product. Doesn't say Apple on it. Steve is rolling in his grave.

Legally, these come from Apple. In all other aspects they are a different brand with different brand DNA.

Like when they tried to save Saab by putting Saab badges on the fronts of Subarus. Nobody was fooled:

Not Saab product except legally.

Apple reselling someone else's product instead of being a products company themselves. Again, who is being fooled?

Mine seems fine? Goes in my gym bag?

Apple doesn't provide any wireless earphones with earhooks. These are designed for exercise and fitness. I wouldn't have run a half marathon with AirPods thats for sure.

Nor do any of the earphones. Didn't in Steves day either. He must be mortified.

PowerBeats Pro are powered by the Apple H1 Chip. These are all Apple baby. And damn they are good workout earphones.

Before Steve ran scully off, Apple was doing more of this.

Trying to guess what the market is asking for, trying to make it. Or paying other people to make it. Whatever it took to get the share price up.

Steve's genius was that he left that type of groveling and pandering to lesser enterprises. He didn't give a crap about the share price.

Steve would say Oh, you want a digital camera? Good for you. We stay focused on making the things we make. Which are things only we know how to do well. Markets we can revolutionize due to vision and laser focus. Get your digital camera from Sony; we don't make one.

Steve didn't do market research or focus groups. He quoted Henry Ford, who said if he'd asked his customers what they wanted they would have said a faster horse.

2019 Apple says "what do people want to buy and how can we sell it to them? Cheesy celebrity headphones? Buy that rap star's brand; you know the one selling low quality headphones at high prices. People want TV shows? Someone buy a video camera. Let's give it all a shot, even if we suck at some of it and we are modest also-rans at a lot of it. Just keep the share price up."

Yay, H1 chip soldered into doctor Dre's copycat-of-everything-else headphones. Dumb proprietary charging cable that breaks a lot. Something something now it has Apple DNA.

LOL

This is like the Apple version of Godwin's law.

"As an online discussion about Apple grows longer, the probability of a being told that Steve jobs wouldn't have done it this way approaches 1"

Correct

It is just so easy to lampoon the current accountant king because he spends all day long doing exactly the kinds of stupid things that Steve was vocally critical of.

(And then paying the price for it.)

It's almost a cheap shot, but not quite.

I ended up returning my pair back in May...the case was just to darn big to be carried in my pants/short pockets. Sound quality was awesome! Airpods won't stay in my ears, I even tried the silicon covers, nope. The ones that work for me are the Galaxy Buds, perfect fit and so great!

I mostly wear mine instead of my AirPods. The other day I couldn't find the Beats so I just grabbed the AirPods, which I found to be really uncomfortable after getting used to the PowerBeats Pro's.

Had mine for a few weeks now to replace my Jaybirds. Love these. No regrets.

I replaced a pair of Jaybird x2s with these myself.

I'm happy with them except I wish the other colors released more timely.

I returned mine after 2 weeks of use back to Amazon. They did great in the gym as far as staying put and no issues wearing glasses. Sounded good. As big as the case is though there's no real excuse not to have wireless charging IMO.

But for me the price of admission was too great for no more than I was using them. I thought I would use them more outside of the gym but at work I always wound up sticking in some corded earbuds to my computer and at home I used my over the ear headphones with my laptop.I hardly use my phone for media. I did have them on at the office one day listening to something and went to the break room and audio still was clear and break up.

If you're a person that's glued to their phone I'm sure you'll be happy with them

I looooove my set so far. Fantastic for music and phone and Hey Siri. Love the battery life of the buds themselves, and the add-on from the case is amazing. Coming from BeatsX, this is a massive improvement. Expensive, but if you can afford it and want a sick full wireless setup, this is it. I really grew to hate the "rubber band" of the BeatsX.

How are they compared to the previous wired version? In terms of fit and feel? and audio quality? or are they basically the same thing?
I cant say as I’ve never owned wired ones. I can mow grass full throttle and not hear the mower. I don’t get as good of sound through them as my studios but the hey Siri, volume controls, ability to use one or both and take calls without wires is enough for me to love them. They fit well but I did have to use the bigger tips to get a good seal. You would have to swat these things out to get them to fall out. I’ve done it
