I want to ad an SSD to my G4 powerbook. I can get IDE ssds, but they are not cheap, and, I only want 120GB. Years ago, people wrote her about ide-sata adapters, but, they were not preciue about WHICH adaptor they used. It seems from the installation video have (https://eshop.macsales.com/installvideos/powerbookg4_al_hd/) that there could be room for a drive with a very thin adapter. and a bit of surgery. but, which one? The ebay sites have dozens..
Anyone done this? A photo would help..

This thread probably contains some usefull info on PATA SSD's or mSATA to IDE adapter in order to add an mSATA SSD.

There's not enough room for a 2.5" HDD plus adaptor, but the before mentioned mSATA plus adaptor fits perfectly

You can find more information about PowerBook G4 SSD-upgrade here:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/powerbook-g4-best-ssd-upgrade.2036231/
Which PowerBook do you want to upgrade? The 12" or the 15/17".
The 12" PBG4 is kind of special when it comes to internal temperature-increase and fan-activity after swapping the spinning-drive with an mSATA/converter-combination, which is producing some more heat than the spinning drive. With the 15/17" models there isn't such a problem.
