Ok, here in our house we have three 4's two work normally, one doesn't. The one that doesn't has had it's iOS reloaded twice. We were in Morro Bay a couple of days ago. I asked my wife to search something on maps. Her 4 was mis-behaving, I said here try mine and it worked normally. Interesting I think.

So with all the millions of these things that Apple has to produce to meet demand, isn't it possible that they need a couple of factories running 24/7 to produce them? Maybe one factory is better at it than the other?

The other thing was--a couple of months ago my old iPhone started dropping calls like crazy. So much so, that the Genius guys replaced it twice in as many months. By the time I got the 4 my phone service normalized. Was it the iPhones or the cell tower up the street? I don't know. There is allot of technology at work here... still seems pretty amazing to me.

It's the ****** AT&T network, not Apple's genius devices. :apple:

I agree that Apple handled the initial reaction poorly. If it was really Steve Jobs replying with an email of "Hold it differently" then it was a bonehead thing to say.

However this always happens with Apple. It may not be the best way to handle a problem but it is the Apple way under Steve Jobs.

The man simply has "I am God and you are s*it, I know all and you know di*k" disease, and this goes from anyone working under him, to Apple's ex-allies and now competitors, to especially, Apple customers.

Corporate attitudes speak far louder than words or bought-and-paid-for PR.

Similar degeneration is seen all the time in coddled rock stars and managers, often under the weight of severe cocaine abuse.

People with this attitude are in for one massive wake up call, IF they survive at all.

Can anyone get through to this guy? Apparently not.

It's way past time for an intervention, or better yet, demotion or a firing.

And this is from someone who DOESN'T want to see Apple go the way of Amiga.

1984.

"Apple has been going so far as to delete threads in its support forums pointing to the Consumer Reports article rather than allowing an open discussion of the topic or addressing the claims."

Its official.
Apple is the evil 1984 corporation it said it wouldn't become.
How cute.
**** apple.

Love it :D

When all your complainers are done i'll buy your phones off you for half what you paid, put a case on it (like I would do anyway with a £500 phone) and then enjoy the upgrade.

I've made the in store i4 do it and I took a video of it dropping 3 bars.

Now, this is the important bit. I WOULD STILL BUY ONE [if I didn't have a 3GS]

no they are not

Well, my issue with the "return it" mantra is that over here in the UK you are locked into a contract with the network so it isn't as simple as "return it".

Anyone in the UK who purchased an iPhone 4 through the Carphone Warehouse on o2 are simply screwed.

err not too sure if you have ever owned an iphone before but the beauty of them is if you have any problem with the device you simply book yourself into the genius bar at your nearest apple store and they sort the problem out / swap the phone regardless of the contract and you never have to talk to some idiot in a phone store or bangalore

But that's not returning it for a full refund...
