does anyone who did it for the 8 know if we just click the preapproval banner at midnight or go into iPhone X

Done it thrice already, you wakeup, wait until the store loads, hit submit. That's literally it. Back on the pillow before sleep even wears off. It pays to be in the IUP.

Are you serious??? It's that easy? Just to be clear:

  • Open App
  • Complete banner will appear at top
  • I click submit\confirm
  • DONE???
Does it default to shipping?? I prefer to have the phone shipped. Also, no additional carrier checks? I assume the preapproval took care of that?

Thanks!

Welcome to my world. Made sure I was off tomorrow though.

Is any method faster than this?

Is there anyone who did the pre-approval for the 8/+ and chose in-store pick-up? Can you describe the process? I'm not sure, but it seems like shipping to your address will be the default and we have to change it to an in-store pick-up. Where is the option to change to in-store pick-up presented? On the first page? How much time does going back and choosing in-store pick-up add?

I realize there are excruciatingly specific questions. Still, any more details to take seconds off this pre-order process would be helpful, given the hype and assumed limited supply.

I too have this question

I would like to know this also. I would rather pick it up than have it shipped...i didn't see this option when i did the pre-approval.

So with the pre approval, now you can’t change colors? You need to wait till 12:01am PST?

I am on IUP, I have 2 pre-orders approved and ready to go. Do I just press one botton and it’ll pre-order both phones? Or does it have to be two transactions?

Yes, its THAT easy, trust me I was shocked too, but Apple is actually giving us IUP people some well earned benefits. It defaults to shipping yes, i use shipping too, arrives release day

if you want to change you have to go through a few more steps, you might lose out on launch day, thats why u should just stick with what you picked.

as i told someone on another thread, you have to do each IUP pre order on that specific phone on the Apple Store APP. So you need both phones in front of you, just like i did with mine and my wife's even though both of us use her credit.

I was reading that those upgrading on the IUP who have been preapproved just have to hit the submit on the Apple Store app. Are we being charged for anything at all during the checkout process? Or do we have to pay anything once the iPhone X is picked up/delivered?

your credit card gets charged that you provided to citizens one when you got pre approved - same as last year, the first payment plus the monthly payment - 150 bucks or so. When you hit submit all it basically does is tell citizens one to start charging you the loan, but technically you already have it and are paying for it, it's just in suspended status until they KNOW for sure you are getting the phone. So, yes, again, you just hit submit.
