yes it allows you to change your billing or shipping address

it remembered the addresses i entered before. home billing address, and work shipping , and it had the cc i usually used, already there

Would you mind detailing the process you had to go through? Did you open the app and click on the “view preapproval” link at the top, or did you have to actually add it to your cart to checkout? Did it just pop up at 3:01 EST and have a button that says “complete upgrade” or anything? Thanks.

It was the latter for me for 8. Just a compete your order. But I had to scroll up and make a few edits to make it store pick-up and I had to pick a time.

Sure, with my wifes i8, i just woke up, kept reloading the store until it didnt say "Well be back soon!" and literally the first page that came up was the order page that said "submit" at the bottom. I hit submit and was back with head on the pillow before the sleep even wore off.

So just to clarify, because its not working for me, the Pre-approval process is only for EXISTING iPhone Upgrade program customers? Not like me who are signing up for the first time?

I’m in the same boat but then it will be the same next year when the next iPhone come out and I need to get in the IUP. Might as well do it now.

I thought of that, but with the split launch, the debut of Face ID, and all the rumors about production delays, it feels like this year is too risky. I don’t want to have to wait until Christmas to get my phone, you know?

I hear you but then the last 4 launches there have been delays. I’m sure the next 4 will be have delays too.

I was getting the same error, erase the Zip and Social and enter manually, worked for me.

Did you have to choose shipping or in-store or did it default to shipping?

Mine was doing that... turns out they wanted my wife's SSN for whatever reason.

No. Fastest way for you is to navigate through the order process in the app, then when you get to the last screen where the "continue" button is greyed out, tap the "heart" to add it to your favorites, settings/carrier/payment options included. It should be right there in the "Account" tab once pre-ordering begins.

Thanks for this! I popped on here just to find out what to actually do next since it is my first year upgrading on the program... I feel like this will be a rough one (cue the threads about apple's worst release in history *eyeroll*). So right now, up top, it says "View preapproval" ... will that just change to say complete order? Or will I need to click on my account to see this saved? Or are you saying the starting screen is literally a checkout screen? Thanks in advance 🙂
 
Can anyone tell me if you save the iPhone X model to your favorites will that speed up the process when the site goes live? Or do you need to start from scratch?

Yes - I was wondering the same thing. What did the Apple Store app default to when ordering the 8? Also, I wonder if you switch to the non default shipping method, if that will improve/reduce your chances of getting a phone as there could be more/less availability with one method vs the other.

Yes, it speeds up the process. My choice is saved all the way to the point where I can go no further, and when I reopen the Apple Store app, it goes right to it.

Were there any other steps? I saw an article that said it takes about 3 taps. Did you select delivery vs. in-store pickup? Was there anything else to do like entering the credit card verification number?

Does anybody know how to make the Apple Store app refresh? Do you have to keep force quitting it or can you just sit on the “we’ll be right back” screen?

I meant to experiment before they took it down today but I never did.
