I miss the outrageously long battery life because regular phones only have the tiny screen and talk time to worry about.

I had a Nokia 5160. I bought that uber thick battery off ebay. That sucker had probably 60hrs of TALK time.

I could leave it on standby for a month!

I miss the speed of my old Samsung a870 on Verizon. It couldn't really do anything, but it did everything it could do almost instantaneously. However, I would miss the App Store, and that's about it.

My last phone was a Samsung Blackjack. I loved it - but it can't hold a candle to my iphone.

BTW - If you really want to talk about the pre-iPhone era, I am old enough that my first cell phone was a Motorola "brick"! Talk about battery life ... if I took it to a baseball game, I needed to bring an additional charged battery as only one would not make it through 9 innings. God forbid we went into extra innings. And if my wife called during the game, the entire section would stop and look at me as most had never seen a cell phone before. :)

I miss small form factor and ultra thin profile (I had Sammy ultra slim edition) It feels great in my pocket and super-light-weight. Not to mention 3MP auto-focus camera. Simply-slide-it-out-and-start-dailing feature is the one I miss the most.
