i just texted it on her phone and it says a full discount is not available for you at this time and that its not available until 2011... why is this when she bought her phone 15 months ago?? Our bill is $150 a month also, people say this helps sometimes get upgrades

does anyone know if Best Buy will take cash or debit for the pre-order?

That's all my friend has. ATT wouldn't let him.
Yes, BestBuy will take Debit, Credit, or cash for the pre-order. I got my gift card and PIN, etc and they said that at #22, I'm assured of getting an i4 on launch day.

Radioshack requires no deposit/gift card purchase, but it's not "pre-order"...more of a reservation (Customer Request). At #6, I'm told (after a lengthy discussion with the manager -- and a few drinks/bribes [not really])I should absolutely get an i4 on launch day...we'll see. I think the odds are good I get at least one on launch day.

Someone answer please?

It's hard to say because there could be many reasons. 150 dollars a month must be after tax? Also, you have to consider the fact that any type of texting or messaging plans don't count. AT&T only counts your rate plans + Data plan. If your mother is a secondary line, then she probably has 9.99 dollars plan + 30 dollars unlimited data plan. AT&T asks for around 99.99 dollars per line (I said per line, not per family.) to be eligible faster than others. I would double check on your 15 months though...
You can call AT&T customer service and ask, but I doubt they will be able to do much. With such high demands on iphone 4, I doubt they will be eager to move your upgrade dates. As a matter of fact, iphone upgrade dates were so strict and no one was allow to upgrade early. (When I worked with iphone 3GS last year) I know this doesn't help out at all, but I hope this clears up some confusion.

Someone answer please?

They will let you upgrade early, but not iphone 4. Why? Because the demands are so freaking crazy right now. They will ask for 399.99 dollars for early upgrade pricing. Based on my experience at AT&T, I have seen only one person was allowed to do this, and the process was so complicated as hell.

Someone answer please?

I tried they said no to me, my wife had a full upgrade me not so much, but anyway the whole 100 bucks a month thing I THINK that refers to the iPhone bill before adding the extra kines and plans they may have, for instance I have 3 lines on my account and my bill is 200 bucks a month minutes cost @ 80 and then the 30 dollar messaging plan brings the total to 110 for my wife alone. now add another 30 for my plan, then another 15 i thing=k for my messaging then 10 for my line thats 55, then the third line 10 and 5 for messaging (non iphone) then with the proper taxes and fees and a couple little things lke international calling my wife has the bill comes to 200.

**** im so pissed, yes she is a secondary line, but she got the 3G last june i think so really 12 months, Im so mad right now cause i tried all day to pre order and finally just went to best buy and spent $50 to pre order it there. Is there anyways to do it if i add like 3 years onto my contract? i mean i can upgrade in August but i dont wanna have to wait that long...

Ok that is not true, I payed 399 today for my upgrade no problem no fuss at all.

edit: I just want to add I am all nice and confrimed with an email and all.

Messaging plans don't count at all. AT&T only looks at your voice + Data. I heard they only moved to voice, but that is something I don't know. But, they never included messaging because most of people would have 30 dollars unlimited family messaging anyway.

Also just wanna say thanks so much for all your help guys even though it wasn't what i wanted to hear... :(:(

Also the fact that we spend around $100 a month and have been customers for 5+ years does nothing?

With the respect.... You should not jump into a conversation if you don't know what is going on. I am answering his questions from way back. The person is asking if he can upgrade early with paying only 199 dollars. That's full discounted price. You paid 399 dollars and that is early upgrade pricing. He is eligible on August for full discounts and he wants to do it now. That is what he was asking and that is what I was answering. Please read before you want to jump into middle of conversation. Also, I am an ex-AT&T employee for 3 years. You think I would not know how all of these upgrading pricing works? Thank you and please get off my back.

Sorry, no. You have a better chance of calling AT&T and ask.

Alright thanks guys for all the help, i guess ill have to wait until August :(:(:( Do you think BestBuy will refund the gift card money/ deposit?

Thanks again for all the help even since it was not at all what i was hoping to hear.

My main question is: I know they weren't allowing preorders of the white iPhone, but...will stores be receiving them in LIMITED quantity? It seems strange that no store - anywhere - will get them at all. I was under the impression that quantities were so 'limited' (yeah right ) that they weren't available for preorders because there'd be too many orders to fill, but that stores (like Best Buy) will receive a few. Maybe a handful each? No? Is that not the case for anywhere? :(

I highly doubt any store will get any at launch, especially BB. I wouldn't expect to see any until they're available at Apple.

Apple Store always gets everything first, then apple starts to distribute to big 3 rd party retailers like bestbuy and AT&T retail stores. I was under impression that more pre-orders they get, more units they will have at these locations. This is why I went to local bestbuy, but I went to one of the biggest ones in my county. To be honest, I don't know what will happen. But, I hope they will get some limited quantities. But, I highly doubt they will get handful each. If you want white iphones, then you better keep looking internet and keep up with news.

I agree. But, I would expect bestbuy to have pretty good amount of iphones in stock and I expect them to have more deliveries every week because this was the only 3rd party retailer that had ipad at launch.

Will Best Buy® take pre-orders for the iPhone 4?
Yes, but only for the iPhone 4 16GB Black (SKU: 1038865) and iPhone 4 32GB Black (SKU: 1039188).

Will Best Buy® take pre-orders for the white iPhone 4?
No. We have stopped taking pre-orders for the iPhone 4 16GB White (SKU: 1039203) and iPhone 4 32GB White (SKU: 1049294). We stopped taking pre-orders for the white iPhone 4 after Apple stopped taking pre-orders to prevent customer disappointment if inventory is not available.

What if I already pre-ordered a white iPhone 4 at Best Buy®?
If you have already pre-ordered either the iPhone 4 16GB White (SKU: 1039203) or iPhone 4 32GB White (SKU: 1049294), then your pre-order is still valid. You will receive your phone once the store receives the product from Apple. This may or may not be on launch day, June 24th, 2010.

If I pre-ordered the iPhone 4 at Best Buy®, will I get it on launch day, June 24th, 2010?
This is not guaranteed and is completely dependent on how many the store receives from Apple. Any inventory received will be used to fulfill outstanding pre-orders in the order they were placed. For example, if the store has twenty pre-orders on launch day but only received fifteen phones from Apple, then the first fifteen pre-orders should receive their phone on launch day.

Will Best Buy® receive inventory of the white iPhone 4 on launch day, June 24th, 2010?
This is not guaranteed and is completely dependent on when the product is received from Apple. While we have ordered all versions of the iPhone 4 from Apple, we can only sell what we are provided with.

When will Best Buy® start taking pre-orders for the iPhone 4?
Tuesday, June 15th, 2010.

When will Best Buy® stop taking pre-orders for the iPhone 4?
The pre-order offer is currently scheduled to expire on June 23rd, 2010. However, the expiration date is subject to change without notice.

Does Best Buy® have a limit on how many pre-orders or iPhone 4 purchases each customer can have?
Yes, limit one (1) phone per customer.

Is there a charge to pre-order the iPhone 4 at Best Buy®?
A $50 deposit will be applied toward a $50 Best Buy® gift card. There is no fee for the pre-order itself.

Does Best Buy® require me to use the Best Buy® gift card, purchased at time of pre-order, towards the actual iPhone 4 purchase?
No, the gift card sold to pre-order your iPhone 4 may be used towards any purchase at a US Best Buy® store or on BestBuy.com and does not need to be used at the time the iPhone 4 is purchased. The customer does not need to present the $50 gift card at point of sale to purchase the iPhone 4.

What is the price of the iPhone 4 at Best Buy® with new 2-year activation?
$199.99 for 16BG Black (SKU: 1049078), $299.99 for 32GB Black (SKU: 1049087), $199.99 for 16GB White (SKU: 1049236), $299.99 for 32GB White (SKU: 1049245).

Will Best Buy® allow me to switch which particular iPhone 4 my pre-order is for?
Yes, assuming the pre-order is still open and not expired. Please bring your pre-order receipt into the store your pre-order was made at for further assistance.
