Hi all,

Rarely ask questions here but can't find a definitive answer.

I am on Verizon, and have the 5s so I don't have an available upgrade. Can I pre-order the iPhone 6 on Friday at full price, off contract, for Verizon?

Thanks!

I'm wondering about this too, but I'm out of contract.

Also is there a breakdown of the full retail prices?

Full retail price adds $450 to the contract prices. You'll be able to order online as long as you have an account with a carrier that you can upgrade even if you have to pay full price.

You should be able to. They only don't sell the device only with no line of service. You still have to enter your info. It will say you aren't eligible and charge you full price.

With AT&T penalizing those who sign a 2 year contract, they sure as heck better give the option to buy outright. Otherwise, in the past T-Mobile's sold unlocked and full price.

Why would anyone buy a phone for full price at any place other than Verizon ? That makes no sense at all !!!

Why is buying full price at Verizon better than buying from another carrier, or from Apple?

Verizon model works on every other carrier while the other phones do not meaning if you do decide to sell it resell value is much much higher

Im sorry but its not much higher. Unless you can point me to some evidence of this.

I will be paying full retail for a 6+. I'd love to upgrade, but I'm still on unlimited data, and with my corporate discount, only paying $75 a month.

If I upgrade to the Share Everything Plan, I would:
-lose unlimited data
-be limited to 2GB
-pay $30 more a month, which over 2 years would be $720 plus the price of the discounted phone.

No brainer here.

I buy AT&T unlocked full price from Apple so I can use SIM cards in foreign countries when I travel.

Just go look at auctions on ebay etc and you will see that unlocked ones always go for much more $$$ cause international buyers will pay much much more for them. $1200 to $1400 was the going rate for a 32 gig 5S at launch

At the pre-order page the only no-contract version I see is TMobile...

Why not buy with your upgrade, destroy the sim that comes with the 6 before turning on the phone, and use the sim from your 5 or 5S? Assuming that's what you have now. The data plan change takes place when the new sim is activated, so just destroy it before booting up?

T MOBILE FULL PRICE is on Apples website, It says contract free.

Will not work with Verizon though.

I wonder if you go to pre-order and select your options, it will just allow you to purchase it full price on Verizon when it sees you're not eligible for an upgrade.

Am I getting my hopes up for no reason?

And if that won't be possible, any best guesses as to whether I'll be able to walk in to the store on the 19th and just buy the Verizon phone outright?
