Depends where you live. Usually there are lines at most Apple stores for most of the day on release day. Not like you can walk in at 2, there be no line, and walk out at 2:15... at least from my experience
To be honest, in my area, I've found the lines are from midnight to around 8 or 9. In the afternoon, it's possible to walk in at 2 and be out at 2:15. Caveat, you might not get the exact color/capacity you want.

Of course, we can't really predict what supply of the iPhone 6 Plus will be like. It could be difficult to get like the iPhone 5s Gold.

I'm sure they will make less of the 6 Plus than the 6. You might actually be able to get the 128GB 6 Plus fairly easy, just because it cost nearly $1000 full price.

$949+tax.. but most of the people would be on a payment plan like next or subsidized.. so $499+tax max.

True, but $500 for a subsidized phone is out of reach for many. Most people will not want a 128GB capacity, especially since when you go to resell it, it won't be worth much more that the 16GB model

If we preorder but want to buy full retail which model will be available to buy? I wonder if an apple rep would know?!

All of them will be available full price. However, Apple normally doesn't sell full price preordered initially online, but they will in the stores on the 19th. The exception will be the T-Mobile phone. It will be available pre order full price.

i used to pre order every year, but the last 2 releases, i've gone to the local at&t store around 545-6 and sat( watching movies on ipad).. walked out with 2 new phones...

pre-order .... then you can join in joy of tracking your phone as it makes its way from China .... :)

Those shipping threads are so fun to read ;)

I've pre-ordered in the past and it hasn't been an issue. As long as you're willing to pre-order as soon as it opens (say, in the first few hours), you'll most likely have an iPhone hand delivered to you by your local UPS/FedEx driver on launch day.

Personally, I'd much rather wake up in the middle of the night to order it online and then go back to bed than to wait in line at a store for several hours simply HOPING that they had the size/model/color I wanted in stock when I got the front of the line.

I'd definitely do the middle of the night pre-order than wait on a line at a store if I simply had to order on launch day.

Thats exactly how it was for both my iPhone 4 and 5 (i am upgrading every 2 years). Both times I walked out with a new phone in less than 30 minutes - on release day!

thanks alot for your help. i will pre-order then, and hopefully it will delivery by fedex because fedex usually delivery early in the morning, compare to like UPS, take them forever to delivery stuff

If you are home, and don't mind waiting for some time that day then just pre-order... but if there is even the slightest chance you won't be at home the 19th, go to the store... Apple product launches are fun

i will not be home for around 2hours that day because i have an exam.

I wish I could preorder but I will be out of town from 9/15-9/29, so it is wait in line at an Apple or ATT store in that city or wait until I get home.
