Had success with apple and carrier with pre-orders in the past.

Hell I even once ordered at 10am after all the servers crashed and got in to receive phone one day before release.

Guess I will just fill it out and see....

Would be something if preorders where available right after the apple event tomorrow? That would be a fun wrinkle.

Does anyone know if you can track your pre-order after it has shipped ? Say for example it's supposed to be delivered on Friday the 19th, can you hold it at ups/fedex location for pickup if no one will be home ?

You may be able to, but it will likely result in delays. I once did this for a package and it took UPS a week to figure out that they had it on a truck out back.

I'd recommend changing your shipping address to something like your work or vacation home or whatever immediately after pre-ordering. Dealing with couriers is a pain.
