Pre-order window time to receive on launch day?

How soon after you placed the preorder did you know when it would arrive? Hours? Days? Weeks? Once you get the shipping confirmation?

So lets me clear. This is pre-order and not Apple upgrade program. The program require and appointment at the store and that may not happen on launch day.

You know while you are making the order. However, its subject to a confirmation email.

People who have been through the pre-order game before, what is the time frame you have to order in in order to receive the device on launch day? I expect within the first 5 minutes and after the dates would begin to slip. I know this may not be true but I know they tend to slip quickly.

it doesn't matter what time, it matters with who you do it with. I Pre ordered mine last year at 11:52pm. 9 minutes before pre orders started and I still got mine 10 days after launch. If you can avoid it, do not pre order with your carrier. Do it with apple and be there on time and you will get it on launch....

lets also not forget preorders are on Saturday this year. That will make a big difference IMO.

indeed. People are more likely to awake for the 12 PDT than wait until they actually wake up for work to order.
