Preordered on 15th, ATT Status says 16th - Official Thread -

Yep. Ordered at 2:30 PM eastern time on the 15th. Got a Premier confirmation e-mail immediately. Order status on the regular AT&T site didn't show up until yesterday afternoon. Date ordered listed as 6/16 (incorrect), everything is listed as Backordered. Credit card was authorized yesterday as well.

Oh well. I read earlier that someone's confirmation e-mail stated that they are trying to get all the pre-ordered phones shipped for 24th arrival but some may arrive as late as the 28th. Not a tragedy but still annoying.

I have had the same experience as others described on this thread. Ordered around 1:30pm on the 15th, with a FAN account, got my email confirmation from Premier immediately. Card was charged yesterday, and I can finally see my order on the regular AT&T website as being backordered and placed on the 16th. I honestly am fine if it ships a few days later than the 24th, as long as we're not talking mid-July. Although if it is mid-July, there's not much I can do about it, and I'm sure I'll be thrilled when it does arrive.

But the geek in me would love to see the backordered bit go to 0 as soon as may be.

Exact same for me. Except I ordered 2 phones. A 32GB at around 3PM EST and a 16GB at around 4:15PM EST. Hoping for a 24th delivery considering I was up at 7AM Eastern and tried all day via Apple and At&t. If I don't get it on the 24th I'll cry for a couple hours and then move on with my life.

Both of my orders show up on the Premiere site as ordered on the 15th and status is processing but the normal order status site shows no record of the order. Ugh I am not feeling good about this...

I ordered mine with a regular AT&T account on the 15th right before the cutoff time for the 24th deliveries. My order status page shows that it was processed on the 16th as well. However, since i've checked my order status it has never displayed "qty backordered", and has only showed "qty ordered".

Hopefully with all of these duplicate orders on pre-order day, and from a lot of people canceling their orders all together we will all get bumped up and see our phone on the 24th.

I've spoken to some people that ordered through AT&T and were told their phones would arrive on the 25th. These were in store orders though, idk. i decided to just go through apple.com

Gahhh so irritating. I ordered my iPhone 4 at approx. 1:30 AM PST on 6/15 from AT&T Premier and it didn't go into the mainstream AT&T Order Status until 9:04 PM PST last night (6/16). Not only does it say I ordered on 6/16 but it says my iPhone is backordered. WTF? I just hope that they double check everyone's time (which I doubt) because I'll be ticked if I don't get mine on the 24th or 25th (although I'll live and be happy until it does arrive).

It just kinda screws up my schedule. I'll be going out of town on the 28th so if I don't get it then, my parents are going to have to take good care of the order until I get back haha.

The pre-order text indicated the phone would ARRIVE on the 24th. My email confirmations says the phones will SHIP on the 24th.

I don't know what the actual deal is but if my phone doesn't ship by the 25th then my order is getting CANCELED.

So... you're going to cancel your order and get one sooner... how?

I as well ordered around 1:30 AM pacific on the 15th and still...not showing up on regular ATT order status page.

But mine does say "processing" and not "attention" like it did the other day.

WTF!!!! I better get my phone the 24-25th...or else!

It's kind of funny how many "Official" threads there are on the same exact topic. I know you will all hate me for saying this, but just wait and find out. If you have a Warning on your status then I understand the cause for concern, but if everything looks good just sit back and wait. Yes, I ordered mine on the 15th and then it was updated on the 16th. The order number was still received on the 15th right after ordering, so that is your place in line. They could go in and make a minor change to your order and now it would say the 17th. Are you going to have another stroke over it?

I remember going through this same crap last year with different people getting different messages and everyone trying to figure out this magical formula of what everything means. Everyone ended up getting their phones in the right order no matter if they're account said Back-Ordered or Ready To Ship.

So hate me if you want, but you are all wasting your time trying to figure this all out. If trying to figure this out is part of the fun for you, then don't let me stop you, but for those of you getting really upset about this, please stop and you will see that everything is going to be fine.

Most people probably have a pretty good chance of showing up at Walmart and snagging one on launch. I'm sure the chances of doing that are a lot higher than relying on AT&T. The thing that really gets me is I wouldn't of even bothered with AT&T, but Apples site was down. I had a bad feeling from the beginning with them. Oh well. It's just a phone after all.

Thanks for your reassurance, I'm pretty sure everything's fine but the woman in me kicks into high-gear when things start looking like they're going sour. I appreciate your levelheadedness though, I'm getting worried partially because everyone else is freaking out so you brought me down to earth again haha.

There is a lag here....I placed my order on the premiere website at 11:33am PST. I got my confirmation email immediately. Status can be checked at https://www.wireless.att.com/business/order_status. Once they go through there, the order then have to be pushed to the order fulfillment site (https://www.wireless.att.com/order_status).

For me, that didn't happen until roughly 7pm PST yesterday on the 16th. My order date on the Premiere site still states 6/15/10. My last updated states Jun 16, 2010, which matches the 'Date Ordered: 06/16/10' on the non premiere site.

Now, couple all this together with the temporary hold of funds on my credit card........That took place last night when it was pushed form premiere to the order fulfillment site.

It's probably just the case that they haven't gotten to yours yet to push it to the fulfillment site.

Another thing here, is that I'm seeing (form the postings of the statuses here), that it looks like the majority of the orders are for 16GB versions. I ordered the 32GB one. If I don't get a tracking number by the 23rd, I'm going to go and see if my reserved 32GB phone is at the Apple store like it says it is. The site says I would get email notification at the time the iPhone is shipped. If they expect delivery on the 24th, then I should get the tracking number email on the 23rd. Although my quantities all say "backordered" at this time. I'm not sure if that's really going to change before they ship, or not.

I ordered through the Premier site. It took about 48 hours for the order to appear on the regular order status website. On the Premier order status website, it says I ordered on 6/15. On the regular site, it says I ordered on 6/16.

Funny thing is, it was impossible to order an iPhone on 6/16 as AT&T had already suspended preorders by then.

The most likely explanation for this has to do with the fact that Premier operates separately from the main AT&T Wireless operation. Our orders all went in on the 15th, but they weren't processed through and over to the main side until the 16th (this is also what happened for me and right about the time my updated date showed as being on the 16th is right about the time the charge hit my CC).

Not really the case for everyone, I have a Premier pre order and it was processed on the 15th.

Since they had 10 times more preorders than the 3GS, they had to process them manually as they got to them. They probably didn't get to yours until the 16th.

If will send them out as inventory allows. If there is enough inventory to have yours delivered on the 24th, you'll get it on the 24th.

I placed my order at about 1:30 mountain time on the 15th. My order status says it was place the 16th, no backorder, and my card still has not been charged...
