I bought it on Sunday. I think by Wed the 2nd I will have barely 10 days out of the 14 allowed. As soon as I would see a price drop I would return it, but the problem is that I fear that Best buy will refuse to return to me the full amount paid because of the price drop.

The ipad is a 16 GB Wifi and was $475 open item, possibly a display model, now that you guys mention it. with taxes came about $520.

I rather wait until the 2nd, however, if Best Buy does drop the price and refuses to give back all my money, I will be pretty upset.

What do you all think?

I think you got played. I don't buy ANYTHING from Worst Buy. They are guaranteed to give you the best marked up price. Just buy a refurb from Apple or wait.

refurbs only have a 90 day warranty. Your open box comes with 1 year warranty.

I dont know why you think there will be a price drop on the new ones, unless you think ipad 1's will drop ahead of the ipad 2....

Apple is giving a full one year warranty with their refurb iPads now.

I don't know if this is a change or not. But the fact is they are now giving a full one year warranty.

Apple has always treated their returns as new purchases with full warranty. Reseller returns are subject to different terms, but purchases through Apple are fully warrantied.

Its been that way as long as I've been aware; full one year warranty beginning when you purchase it. You also can add applecare as you would with any in-warranty Apple device.

I don't have a link handy, but I've read here and on Apple support forums that refurbs are given a battery and new outershell.

The statement about refurbs having a 90 day warranty is utterly incorrect for refurbished ipads purchased through the US Apple.com site.

From the Apple Refurb iPad page:

http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/ipad

That is sweet...

As soon as we know what the announcements are, even if there is no immediate price drop, I will target the refurb section.

See guys? i live in a town where there is no apple store but 2 hrs away from here in the main city.

Unfortunately, Best Buy is the ONLY electronics store here.

Waiting... for Wednesday. I miss my iPad.

I am so glad i waited!!!!!!!

I AM GETTING THE IPAD 2!!!!!

Now the problem is to beat the crowd on Friday 11th. We only have Best Buy, Target and Walmart in this town.

I wonder...

Probably I will get my iPad later than Friday... Long wait for me but it will be worth it.

Thanks for your advice guys!
