Those are awesome, but I already have Lion installed.
What do I do if it's already installed since you said to do it in between the download from the APP Store and Installation of Lion?

Actually you can install Lion on every mac you own, not limited to 5. All you do is log into your account via the app store and download as you did on your initial computer. The App store will verify that 1) lion is not installed on the computer you are downloading to 2) that you are the user who has already purchased Lion (via your login and pw) and you are good to go. I have installed it on all three of my mac this way with no issue. Think of it like two iPhones using the same iTunes account. Both those phones get access to the same paid apps as long as they use the same iTunes account.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Duffer6! Greatly appreciated!

am I screwed?

is it installing, or downloading to be installed?

It says that while it's downloading - wait until the download is done, then the Lion pop-up prompting to hit the install button will appear, and at that time right click the icon in the launch bar and select "quit" - the install icon should then be in the apps folder - open the apps folder in finder, find the Lion icon and follow the instructions in the OP further.

Here's the deal......

I bought LION and downloaded it to my 2011 MBP.

I used the instructions to create a bootable USB Lion Install Drive.

I then connected an EXTERNAL USB HDD to my MBP as I did not, at this time want to disturb the INTERNAL HDD and my working Snow Leopard install.

So I have LION installed and running on the external drive and am about to install some software and test it out under LION on program at a time.

ONE QUESTION:

Can I reuse the Bootable USB drive I created to install LION to the internal MBP HDD once I am sure all programs I use are fully functional ... OR ... should I go through the process of making the USB Flash Drive all over again??

In other words, were some files deleted from the USB Flash Drive as a part of the LION installation process????

FWIW: I tried using SANDISK 4 GB Flashdrives and they failed due to " insufficient space ".

The 16GB one I had worked fine though! ;)

Why?

Why aren't you guys embracing the new technology? Don't you think they went through all that work with restore partitions and remote installation from apple's servers so you guys wouldn't have to do all this work :(
