What's the difference between the m3 and the m5?
[doublepost=1484445675][/doublepost]Well, I did it.

I purchased the m5 Open Box Certified for $1143 before taxes. I hope that this is quality purchase... you never know what you are going to get with the open box stuff, but I am willing to give it a try. Anyways, over $450 off of MSRP, I figured it was worth a shot.

I picked up a non-certified, just 'excellent' condition rMB (went m3 personally) and it's absolutely MINT.

I HOPE that mine is good. I would have gone with just excellent, non certified, but they only had the option of checking stores. I went with the only open box option for delivery to my home. I currently have a 2015 base one and I'm going to pass it on to my kiddos to use and sell their old laptop.

Seems like a good deal, I just hope it all works out.

I ordered one just before midnight last night. m5/512GB. It's hard to pass up a $300 discount on a new MacBook but then again we could see some desired improvements in the next 100 days or so.

Picked it up this morning. Haven't opened it yet, we'll see how this go.

I picked up an open box m5 from Best Buy last night on the recommendation of ya'll. I had previously bought a base model ntmbp, that I just wasn't happy with the form factor. This is perfect and not too many steps back from the base pro model.

Thanks for the heads up!

I got a 2016 refurb M3 in space grey last week and I love it, it does everything I want/need with fantastic performance.

I just ordered the same MacBook from Best Buy open box, but then realized the open box non touch bar MacBook pro with only 256GB is only $3 more... so I ordered that too. Gotta decide if I want to keep the extra speed and size or extra storage and portability. This is ultimately going to be my wife's computer but I feel with a external HD the MBP will hold up over time with and external HD but I'm just worried about the battery life. I've read good and bad things about the non touch bar battery.

Refurbished 2016 Space Grey m5 512GB from Apple. I tried 2016 13" MacBook Pro, and 2015 13" MacBook Pro. I love the size and weight. I realized going mobile you might as well be as light as possible. Saved like $300, still expensive but build quality compared to other ultra lights it's worth it. Also Apple with all its faults is still makes the best computers on the planet, AND space grey rips. Looks so slick.

My hope is that the 2017 just has KabyLake and not TB3. I read TB3 needs and extra controller for traffic? And won't be that easy to make super thin.

Finally got around to setting up my Macbook from Best Buy.

Stupid thing had a completely drained battery

I also ordered macbook m3 spacegrey, open-box Certified "Excellent" on saturday at bestbuy sale..

Hows your macbook holding up and its performance.. did you have warranty reset-ed or did you call apple for that?i will have a look at charge cycles when it gets delivered.. I have never purchased open box deals before!

Mine had 2 cycles on it and was only 3 weeks old so it still had a full warranty.

Rose Gold m5/512 for $1,143...and they offered 10% off on top (Best Buy).

So tempting, but I really don't want to hear the comments every time I whip out a pink laptop.

How are you able to get 10% off?

Just ask them. It's not a guarantee, but many stores/managers will do it to get rid of the inventory. Don't be a child about it though if you're told no. They don't owe it to anyone.

Mine got delivered. Has 5 charge cycles when i opened it.. Mine didnt get delivered in original box. Seems like a good machine. It has El Capitan installed in it though. Shouldnt it be shipped with Sierra instead ?

I checked serial number with Apple service page.. it say valid till september 2017. I have heard warranty can be reset by calling Apple !

My new open box m5 just died. Tech support tried to revive it via chat tonight, but declared it a hardware issue. Bringing it into Apple Store tomorrow to get fixed. I'm wondering if I should just take it back to Best Buy and wait for a better generation of macs.

-Note, new Macbook Pro had a exclamation point at boot when I brought it back to Best Buy. I have never had trouble with macs before these two. I'm typing this on a 2012 MacBook Air that has taken all kinds of abuse, but works great.

I would take it back to Best Buy and order a refurb directly from Apple. Pretty close to the same price and you are going to get a good machine.

I got the open box for under $1,100. I was hoping that if Apple actually fixed it, they would go through the computer. For instance, the battery is down to 93% capacity already. Is this wishful thinking?

Rolled in today's sale and negotiated 10% extra. M5/512/2016 model. Nice price.

Weird. The crop cut off. $994 for a gold MB.
