I have the Lexmark X9350, Samsung CLP-300N and Brother Intellifax 2480C

Well, Lexmark is the only wi-fi one I have. And it's GREAT.
I love it :D I even charge my iPhone with it since my printer is closer to my bed than my computer :)

I got it for about CA$130 with the second paper tray. This thing is a monster :D

How does it work with OS X? Have you tried all of the multifunctions?

I used to swear by HP, back in the day they made printers that would last forever. I had a couple deskjet series that would have done so but I dropped a bookend on one, and the other is a really old Apple one that used the 90's Apple printer port. Probably still works if I had a computer that used the port.

The last HP Photosmart printer we had was nice, fast, and made nice pictures but the paper feed was horrible. We're looking at the Brother 2170 laser to do our document printing at home, and maybe ad a cheap color multifunction in the future if we start needing a scanner/copier (we have a Lexmark all-in-one but it stopped working for everything but scanning a while back), we'll just use Kinko's/Target/Sam's Club if we need photos done.

Yes, they have a nice software called "Lexmark 9300 Series Center" that lets you do all the fax/print/scan/PictBridge blah blah in one program.

I never had a single problem with this wonderful printer. And all my computers at home can use it without a problem via Wi-Fi. Comes with very useful manual and all.

Hp J6480

I have the HP J6480 and it works great. In my house we have 6 laptops (2 macbooks and 4 pc), and an iMac. We have the Belkin N+ wireless router. Each computer, including the iMac print wirelessly without a hitch.

I think it's a good printer and it's very inexpensive.

In terms of initial cost, yes. Most do these days. Supplies are where the real profits are. ;)

For me, the real cost comes down to the supplies. After HP began chipping their supplies, their printers fell really short in this category, no matter the print technology. :(

Do you mean $8,000 per gallon of ink is a bit much?

I'm using a Brother as well... the MFC 490c. It's not quite as fancy (no duplex or ledger printing), but it does decent photos, and it's wireless. If you go brother, try to get one thats a 90's series (490... 290... etc) as the ink is cheaper ($25 CDN for all colour and 23 for black) as opposed to last years model which is $45 for colour and 29 for black.

I went laser, as the cost/page is cheaper, and it happens to be both fast, and have a better output quality. ;)
