What's the point in having Migration Assistant then? - Just to cater for those who are moving from machine to machine in the current generation?

Seems a bit daft...

Did you all do migrations from old machines? It causes a hell of a lot of weird issues

I did. I bought 2 new Pros and migrated from 2 iMacs. 1 is fine and 1 is not.
