I think it could happen, but probably a low probability.

Gold aluminum and rose gold aluminum might keep even more people away from the SS model. Surely, Apple won't want to give up on the SS model yet due to the higher margins in the device. They created so many bands for the SS, they wanted it to do well.

If you were feeling as though the watch was failing, gold tone on the aluminum models might help give you a boost, but you'd be giving up a bit on your higher margin devices.

I'm waiting on a dark blue / navy sport band to sometimes pair with my Black SS watch.

I doubt it because gold aluminum and rose gold aluminum are hardly jewelry-like. SS would still be a step up from them in this department.

Maybe not new device colours yet, but I can definitely see some new bands being released in September/October at the iPhone or iPad keynote.

I wouldn't mind a red or navy Sport band, and I think lots of people are clamouring for a red leather loop. I wouldn't mind seeing completely new bands too, perhaps a more premium band designed for the Sport or a nylon one?

Wow... U typed exactly what I was thinking. Good call!!

Don't know which analyst predicted it. Do you have a link?

Strange, I can't find it, it was part of an analysts prediction for the September event, posted on the front page. I've gone back and skimmed the titles but couldn't find it but it must be there somewhere.

He had an east asian name.

Please let there be a leather loop for the 38mm watch. Id like to have one.

I found in a Reddit thread the 42mm loop fits fairly well on the 38mm, and literally 2 minutes with a razorbalde trimmed off the small excess and have a blue leather loop on my 38mm SSB now

It's a higher probability than a price drop.
The only way a price drop would work would be if Apple takes something OUT. Maybe the HR monitor? Maybe make a plastic case version? Maybe with non-interchangeable bands? Maybe a less dazzling display? Maybe no phone calls or no Siri?

That would allow them to preserve current pricing while also introducing a "budget" option to draw in those who find $350 too much. Once they're in the store to buy the $199 cheapie the soft upsell will start!

While I might agree with you in that they wouldn't cut the price on the current offering of the Watch, and perhaps they could introduce a cheaper model, but I could not see them making any of these changes in order to release one. No way would they take out the HR monitor when health and activity tracking are one of their key selling points, nor would they (IMO) give up on the huge money maker of the bands and their interchangeability. Couldn't see them pulling either of those other features or downgrading the display. A change in the casing material is the only one I would consider a possibility- tho a very low one at that, and I would never think they would resort to plastic if you ask me. Just couldn't see Apple making these changes really. Even if they were selling way under what they estimated and/or hoped for.

I'd say the odds are very high of some new bands (perhaps red). I'd peg it at 33% that they release some new colors on the sport alongside the iPhone 6s next month.
