So I just purchased a new iPhone 7 plus (A1661) 256 Gigs on 10.2.1 (got lucky) anyway so the issue that I am facing is that when I enter passcode at the lockscreen it takes good 2-3 seconds to unlock like there is a delay/freeze for 2-3 seconds after entering the last digit of passcode, I compared it with my 6s running 10.3.1 which is lightning fast as compared to my new phone. I am thinking about updating iOS 11 to check whether its a hardware issue or a software one but I do not want to update because I plan on jailbreaking this phone + reported battery issues on iOS 11. Everything else works fine, touch id is fine and does not lag. I have tried factory resetting, turning raise to wake on/off, toggling orientation lock, removing sim, airplane mode, turning off 3d touch, turning off auto brightness, using a different passcode. The lag is consistent and it bugs me, can you guys please suggest if its a software bug or whether I should update to latest iOS to check if that fixes the issue?

Someone who has a 7 plus running 10.2.1 please try the passcode option and help me out and report if there is a delay/freeze after you enter the last digit of your passcode, it would be a huge help for me and a confirmation whether or not this issue is a software one or a hardware problem.

Seeing how you have done a lot of the basics to try and get the problem solved, you should return to Apple for another device.

I had the 7 plus until i got the iPhone X, and never experienced what you are describing.

Reset All Settings - after you've checked them all to remember how you want to set them up again. This solves a lot of problems like slow phones, lagging, failure to do iCloud backups, failure to sync iCloud photo library, etc.

It fixed my iPhone 6 after going to iOS 11 and finding apps took 4x longer to load than on iOS 10 (like 4-20 seconds to load vs 1-4 seconds before for most apps).

It fixed my brother's inability to do an iCloud backup this week on his iPhone 5 with iOS 10.3.3.
